Where is Villa Monaciano? And, what is it?
Villa Monaciano is located 1 hour from Florence and 15 minutes from the historical medieval town of Siena. It is a rustic estate and classic Tuscan wedding venue located within the Chianti Hills. Imagine entering through a cypress-lined path to see miles of vineyards and olive groves, offering breathtaking views of the countryside, the elegance of the historical Villa and its evocative romantic gardens, and swimming pools overlooking vineyards.
What should I expect?
Samantha knows how to throw a party so expect an epic few days. Their goal is to have an experience that is true to their style with an intentional small wedding and hope to provide you with a uniquely Tuscan experience focused on local food and beverage. Their formal itinerary is a work in progress. However, on the first day, you expect a welcome party with classic Italian aperitifs and pizza. On the second day, they will have a short symbolic ceremony and a seated, banquet style dinner. On the third day, enter "La Festa", a banger focused on local food and wine. On the morning of the 5th, the guests will say their goodbyes.
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Tuscany is warm, usually averaging between 72-85F.
What is the Wedding Dress Code?
Day 1, Welcome Party: located in the nymphaeum. This day will be fun, glam, and semi-formal.
Day 2, The Symbolic Ceremony & Wedding Day: located in the amphitheater, gardens, then the cellars for an after party. This is formal. Dress your best!
Day 3, Festa: located in the court yard. Cocktail attire. This is less about what you wear, and more about an attitude. Think: garden party, polished with panache. An example could be linen suit separates for men and short, spicy dress for women. Please no jeans.
Will there be transport to the estate?
No. However, it is very easy to travel within Italy.
Getting to the estate: train and taxi cab are the easiest. If you are renting a car, parking is available!
Within the estate: there are 4 villas of varying sizes from 10-20min walks to the main area. Ladies, bring sandals so you don't have to walk in your heels!
Where will I stay? Read All.
Sam and Dave wanted to foster a "home away from home" feel. The estate is equipped with 4 villas of varying sizes. Everyone will be accommodated on the estate. Unless you are immediate family, the cost per room is €200/night including breakfast. Villa Monaciano is not able to accept individual payments by guests. Samantha and David are asking guests to pay by venmo or zelle. This was not their preferred method, but if you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to reach out to the couple. They are requesting payment by June 30th.
Types of Rooms Available
There are three room types.
Double Room: One Bed for Two People. Bed size is between a US Full and Queen sized bed.
Twin Room: Two US Twin sized beds. In almost all cases, these can be pushed together to create a king sized bed.
Single Room: one US twin sized bed. Given the size of our party, no one would be in this style room (unless of course that's your preference, then let Sam & Dave know).
Free Days? Read All.
S&D have listed potential activities for guests during their free time on Day 2 and Day 3. Guests will be responsible for the cost of their activities. S&D will collect RSVP's and work with Flow Traveling to plan the activities (which include travel to and from the estate). We'll share pricing with you and you can decide if that fits your budget. Flow Traveling comes highly recommended by S&D's wedding planner. As you can see, they have pre-organized events or you can work with them to build a custom itinerary for a wine tasting, horseback riding, tour in Florence, etc. Samantha & David are working on special rates so let them know if you choose a custom intinerary.
