It was our first night alone on our trip through Sicily. We arrived in Cefalu where we walked to our quaint little air bnb right on the water. We got ready and headed out to explore. Our first stop was a beautiful little Enoteca right on the water. Little did I know that Gaetano was planning on popping the question right there. How picture perfect?! Except it was stifling hot. We stuck it out had an array of meats and cheese... and of course wine! We went back to our room after to freshen up because well, we were a sweaty mess haha! We found an amazing enoteca inside of the town, La Cave. You walked over a glass floor looking into their wine cave. We had another bottle of wine and some snacks all while enjoying conversation with Mario the owner. Gaetano needed to come up with a new plan and after some prompting from family and Mario we left the Enoteca at sundown to walk to the arches. It practically felt like Gaetano was dragging me, well.. he was. We waited to take a picture, and Gaetano offered to take a picture for a nice couple from Milan. He instructed me after to walk over to get our picture while he handed his phone to the husband. He told him, "Sir, I'm about to ask one of the most important questions of my life. Can you please take a picture." When the man asked how many he said, "50 million!" Gaetano walked over to me and said, "Samantha, I've been wanting to ask you this for a long time now. Will you be my wife?" The tears were instant and I was in total shock. My best friend asked me to marry him in the most beautiful place. The rest, well that's for us to remember =)
