While Sam initially joined the Fayetteville Fire Department to gain medical experience, she didn't think she'd also meet the love of her life there. After nearly three years of volunteering there, at the annual banquet of all places, she met David. Their first interaction involved Sex on the Beach... the drink... and quickly progressed from there. Sam pretended she knew where Oriskany was, and David pretended he knew about the feminist rant she was drunkenly going on about. Love at first sight.&nbsp; Sam returned to Pitt to finish the semester, but was looking forward to returning home to see if the spark they had that first night was still there. After a trip to Coleman's, a walk at Green Lakes, and a romantic evening at Brian's Landing, the two knew this was something special. After two weeks they began to date, and a month later they said, "I love you" under the stars, and the rest is history.&nbsp;

How We Met 

All David would tell Sam was that he was planning a romantic getaway to celebrate the New Year. Once they made the turn on to I-79, Sam knew they were traveling to Pittsburgh. Sam had attended undergrad in Pittsburgh, and began dating David the summer before her senior year. That year was filled with many romantic weekends to Pittsburgh, some planned, some spur of the moment, and has a special place in both of their hearts. David planned a proposal on top of Mt. Washington, a place with multiple overlooks that you can see the entire city of Pittsburgh. He bought the perfect ring, hired a photographer, and selected the most beautiful overlook. It was the easiest yes of Sam's life. They finished out 2021 by becoming an engaged couple.

David and I have reserved 50 rooms in the block for this hotel on the evening of the 8th for $119 a room. In addition, we have reserved a smaller block for the evening of the 7th for those staying the entire weekend at $169 a room. There are a few other chain hotels in Auburn, NY (9 miles from venue) as well as numerous inns in Skaneateles, NY (2 miles from venue). They recommend booking early as it is a holiday weekend! A shuttle service will be provided to and from the Holiday Inn Auburn-Finger Lakes beginning at 2:30 pm and ending at 10:15pm after the venue closes. An after party will begin promptly at 10:00 pm at the restaurant/bar located inside the hotel.
