Q + A

Where are the Ceremony and Reception taking place?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be held on-site at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. The ceremony will be held outside, under the oak trees, and the cocktail hour and reception will be held steps from the ceremony location at the cotton dock. The cotton dock is an indoor / outdoor area on the local marshes.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, the drinks are on us and the hangover is on you - get ready to party!

How do we get there?

Since everyone will be in different hotels, Airbnbs, or VRBO’s, we ask everyone to drive, taxi, Uber, or Lyft. There is an open bar at the wedding so we highly recommend Uber or Lyft (they are easy to get in Mount Pleasant / Charleston area). All guests must park in the main parking area near the Plantation House. All drop offs must be in the main parking lot to the right of the Plantation House. Any guest's vehicles may be left overnight and retrieved the next day during operating hours which are 9am-5pm. There will be a gate guard when entering the venue. Guests can tell the guard they are here for the wedding, and do not need to pay admission when they arrive.

When should I be there?

The ceremony will start at 5:30pm so we recommend getting there at least 20-30 minutes early depending how far you are staying from the venue. Also, to give yourself time to park and find a seat. Especially if you are having to schedule an Uber, taxi, or Lyft.

Is there a dress code?

We'd love to see our family and friends dress up with us! When's the next time you'll get to dress up and get all fancy?? We are requesting formal attire for our wedding. Some examples, ladies can wear floor-length, tea-length, or midi formal dress. Gentlemen can wear a suit and tie. No jeans please!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Absolutely! We want to watch our wedding from our guests point of view and see our ceremony as our guests see it! Please just be respectful of our professional photographers and videographers.

Can I bring a date or plus one?

Plus ones or the word “guest” will appear with your name when you RSVP on the formal invitation!

Are kids invited?

We decided to keep our wedding and reception an adult-only event (the only exception are flower girls and ring bearers). This is also for safety reasons due to the locations of the ceremony and reception. Invitations will be specific and include the names of the each individual invited. We hope you understand and enjoy a night off!
