Back in May of 2022, Jt and I were both traveling to Orlando, Florida with our men's and women's national volleyball teams. After multiple days of hard fought volleyball, we officially met and conversed, about Coke Zero of all things, and instantly felt a connection. After after talking all night, I unfortunately, had to catch an early flight home to Milwaukee. After my flight. I woke up to an instant friend request and message from him early the next morning about how great it was to talk to me. We started talking every day and I found out he happened to be moving to Milwaukee from Shaumburg, Illinois the next week!

In May of 2025, JT and I traveled to Denver, Colorado to participate in Adult Volleyball Nationals once again. We arrived a few days early to spend some one-on-one time with one another exploring Denver. One May 20th, JT wanted to go hiking at Mount Falcon Park to see a beautiful mountain view overlooking downtown Denver. Once we reached the "Mountain View," I quickly went in front of him to take pictures of the view. I was so mesmerized by the mountains and scenery that I hadn't noticed JT was kneeling on one knee for about 3 total minutes. After a very an overjoyed "YES!" from me, I asked if he had asked my parents since I was convinced I'd know when the proposal was coming because I would know when he would've asked them. He said that he asked a few months before when I wasn't home so that he and my family could keep it a secret. What a perfectly special moment it was!
