Back in 2014, Josh was on his way back in from lunch break while Sammi was coming down the staircase at Holy Cross Secondary School. They locked eyes and immediately Sammi got giggly and blushy and Josh was a smooth talking, kind man. Sammi knew then that one day that would be the man she was going to marry. The connection they had was strong. Years past and they had grown up immensely learning powerful life lessons from their surroundings. They officially started dating in 2020 and the rest is a beautiful history…

How We Met

Josh & Sammi had gone away on a week vacation to Cancún Mexico. After many adventures in Canada like Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls, an 11 day trip across the East Coast and many many more, the two decided it was time to go on a real vacation down south. They spent the week in Mexico walking down to the strip to local businesses, taking a ferry over to the island and exploring the entire thing (Isla Mujeres) and going Scuba Diving even though Sammi had never been so Josh acted as Sammi’s rock throughout the entire experience. On their last night of their beautiful trip Josh had suggested a walk down to the beach, he spoke about doing a walk at sunrise or sunset the entire week like his mother and him used to do when he was a kid but it was always cloudy, until that evening. They both dressed up and wore purple (Sammi’s Grandma who is no longer with us favourite colour) to go to dinner, they both hadn’t planned it, it just worked out perfectly. They walked along the beach with the palm trees swaying, the smell of the fresh ocean air and the sunset was beyond glowing with gorgeous rays of yellow, orange and pink reflected off the Caribbean ocean. They spoke to each other about how grateful they were to have each other and how perfect their lives were together and how they both knew they had found the person they both wanted to be with the rest of their lives while holding hands walking down the beach. Josh suggested to Sammi to pick a place to walk too, Sammi chose a rocky cliff overlooking the wonderful view (little did she know he had already chose that spot as well). They walked up together and Sammi enjoying taking pictures of the sunset, large sea birds and the ocean waves was distracted, Josh saw this as the perfect opportunity, he got down on one knee and waited for her to turn around, a few seconds later she turned and was beyond excited. He kept his question short and simple but most importantly beautiful. “Sammi McRae, I love you so much, I want to be with you the rest of our lives, will you marry me?”. Sammi barely let him finish speaking before she shouted “yes, yes, of course I will!”. The people on the beach screamed out of excited for them and they both cried hugging and kissing each other knowing they just made the best decision they had ever made.

Our Engagement

The city is renowned for its beautiful beaches, lively nightclubs and serene atmosphere, in downtown cancun you can find it all! -Experience Cancuns downtown nightlife: With large nightclubs such as <a href="https://www.cocobongo.com/show/cancun/?lang=en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Coco Bongo Show &amp; Disco</a>, <a href="https://mandalatickets.com/en/cancun/disco/mandala-pp" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mandala Beach Club</a> , <a href="https://mandalatickets.com/en/cancun/disco/the-city" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The City Nightclub</a> , <a href="https://www.cocobongo.com/show/congo-bar-cancun/?lang=en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Congo Bar</a> , and lots of other options that have everything you need for a night out of dancing, partying or just enjoying live music.-Shopping: You can shop at many local vendors along the strip. There is also many shopping mall's called Malecon Americas and Plaza Las Americas which are located right next to each other. There is also La Isla Cancun which is a high-end shopping mall with stores such as Guicci, Armani Exchange, and lots of known brands such as Victoria's Secret, Starbucks and Mcdonalds.-Grocery Shopping: The grocery stores in the area are very fun to go through, they have many different food options such as fruits, vegetables and snacks we don't have access to in Canada. Our two favourites to visit were Super Selecto Chedraui Zona Hotelera and Tierra Mercado.-Convience Stores: There is a convience store located inside the hotel in the lobby as well as when you exit the hotel and find a convience store right next to the building. Downtown there are plenty of convience stores as well as local vendors for snacks, drinks, or whatever else you may need.-Beautiful Beaches: As of October 22nd, 2020 all&nbsp;beaches&nbsp;in Mexico must guarantee free public access to everyone.&nbsp;Some of our favourites included Playa Forum, Playa Tortugas, Playa Gaviota Azul and lots of other beaches sure to make for a beautiful swim.-Restaurants: There are plenty of different restaurants in El Centro including lots of local vendors selling food as well as large brand restaurants. Some highlights would include Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Cancun (seafood &amp; southern), Trattoria Limoncello (Italian), Senor Frog's (American/Mexican Food), Hooters Party Center (American) and many other dining options.-Theme Parks: Cancun has lots of options when it comes to theme parks. Everything from waterparks, zoos, aquariums, ferris wheels, and plenty of other options. Options of these would include Ventura Park, Croco Cun Zoo, Xoximilco/ Mexican Floating Fiesta, Ferris Wheel Cancun,Interactive Aquarium Cancun and a great deal of others. How to get there: With a quick Uber, DiDi App or bus ride you can get around Cancun very easily. While we suggest not hailing a random taxi off the street as they can be very expensive or dangerous, using apps or taking the bus is a cheap and relatively safe experience. To get back to the hotel zone,&nbsp;locals call the hotel zone the “zona hotelera.”&nbsp;
