Island Lake Lodge is a backcountry, off-grid resort accessible only by driving through an old-growth forest. The lodge is a 25 minute drive from downtown Fernie, so it is quite remote.
We have exclusive use of the lodge for the wedding weekend, and we think that staying at the lodge will be the most fun! Let us know directly if you would like to book a room at the lodge.
The Cedar Lodge and the Tamarack Lodge, which are "Deluxe Accommodations" have a couple of room configurations: some have 2 Queen Beds in the room, while other rooms have only 1 King Bed in the room. We will prioritize assigning families to rooms with 2 Queen Beds, unless you ask otherwise.
The Red Eagle Lodge is "Standard Accommodation" that contains mostly 1 Queen Bed per room (with a few exceptions).
Once you have confirmed with us that you would like to book a room at the lodge, Island Lake has requested that guests call to provide credit card and contact information. This is required by July 20, 2025.
*As a side note, do not look for Island Lake Lodge on Apple Maps. The location pinned to Apple Maps is inaccurate. Google Maps, however, shows where Island Lake Lodge is located appropriately (approximately 25 minutes driving from downtown Fernie). The address is kind of confusing, so search for "Island Lake Lodge" specifically, as opposed to typing in an address. The lodge's website has specific directions, feel free to reference at your leisure:
