Kyle & Sara's love story begins on the first day of seventh grade at Aviara Oaks Middle School. Kyle had just transferred schools and was new at AOE. He had the Justin Bieber hair cut before JB did and was very popular with the ladies. Sara was still in her tomboy phase, and as Kyle loves to point out, was frequently wearing a Philip Rivers jersey and cargo shorts to school. The two happened to run in the same circle of friends and spent a good amount of time together through middle school. Kyle never thought of Sara as more than one of the guys until the eight grade dance where she wore a dress and did her hair for the first time. They danced all night with friends and it was truly an eye opening experience for Kyle.

They were in different friend groups in high school, as Kyle was busy with baseball and Sara with soccer, but would occasionally see each other in the halls. They both committed to different schools to play their respective sports, and that could have been the end of the story had they not reconnected the summer between Freshman and Sophomore year of college.

Now this part of the story is highly contested because Sara and Kyle both claim the other slid into their DMs, so I guess we'll never know who initiated it (Sara knows). But it happened, and the two became close very quickly and would talk on the phone regularly. They remained "just friends" through college until moving back to San Diego after graduation. Kyle finally figured it out and asked Sara to be his girlfriend on August 12th, 2020. They moved in together with Sara's dog Stevie, and shortly after adopted their three-legged pup, Boone.
