We met on a dating app, Hinge, on September 6th, 2020. On September 13th (the day after Shane's birthday Sara would eventually find out) we met for our first date at SoHo Tea and Coffee in DuPont Circle in Washington, DC. We stayed there for hours sitting outside and talking about every topic under the sun- work, hobbies, football, food, etc. After that day, we both knew we found something special!!

In November, Sara met Shane's sister and (at that time) future brother-in-law while they were on their way to NY for Thanksgiving. To anyone who knows the Haley family, meeting MacKenzie is a BIG DEAL because her opinion holds the greatest value in the family!

Throughout 2021 we continued to meet more family and friends. Unfortunately, Shane's experience meeting Sara's mom in March would be cut short due to a death in the family- Sara's grandfather, Tote. Although difficult, going through this together would make our relationship even stronger!

In November, 2021 we got our first apartment together and started our journey as a family of 3 (Sara, Shane, and Dixie- Sara's cat).

In February, 2022 we adopted our puppy, Remington- a dream come true for Shane- a corgi of his very own!

Completely unknown to Sara, in June, Shane started making plans to buy a ring. On a summer camping trip, Shane would ask Rob for his blessing in marrying his daughter. In September, Shane informed the paparazzi (most of his groomsman) and we took an amazing trip to Glacier National Park in Montana where Shane got down on one knee (in a freezing glacier) to ask the big question while his friends documented the moment.

After that trip, we came home and started our road to forever with buying our first home!
