Our Wedding

This motel has a pool and delicious restaurant, it's also been recently renovated! You can preview it on the Netflix show "Motel Makeover". It's about a 10 minute drive from this motel to the Martyn Cottage.

The June Motel Sauble Beach

This is a great walkable option to the Martyn Cottage as well as the quieter north end of the beach. It's located on the river and has also been recently renovated. It's about a 7 minute walk from the motel to the Martyn Cottage.

Kit Wat Motel & Marina

This is the closest option to the Martyn Cottage, only about a 5 minute walk! They also have a ton of different water toys to rent and take down the river or out to the lake.

Sauble River Marina & Lodge Resort

This is the newest addition to Sauble Beach, opening summer 2024. They have a restaurant and are located right on the beach close to downtown. It's about a 10 minute drive from this hotel to the Martyn Cottage.

The Sands Hotel | Sauble Beach

This is more secluded option located near the falls in a quiet area of Sauble. It's about a 5 minute drive from the falls to the Martyn Cottage.

Sauble Falls Bed & Breakfast

This is a great option if you want to camp for the weekend! It has bathrooms, a playground, basketball hoops and is right on the river. It's about a 5 minute drive to the Martyn Cottage.

Our favorite place! Here are the highlights: -Heydays Restaurant: Located at the June Motel (which had a Netflix show made about it) they have great mac and cheese, lobster rolls and more. -Luscious Bakery: Our favorite bakery! They arent open everyday so make sure before you go. -Amicis coffee: Sara goes here literally every day to Daniels dismay. -Casero Taco Truck: A rare Mexican restaurant in Canada. They have great cocktails and burritos! They also have a sit down restaurant in Owen Sound (30 minutes from Sauble Beach) with more options that we always go to when were here. -The Dunes: Daniel is a big fan of their fish and chips. They also have line dancing, karaoke and live music every week if thats your thing! -Gigis Italian: Newest Sauble addition! -The Patch: Huge vintage clothing shop on main street. -Putt Putt: Bar Tiki is right across the street from The Patch and you guessed it, has a tiki bar! Putterama is off main street and also is a fun course. -Sauble River Marina: They rent out kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and more! You can go down to the falls on the river or out to the lake on a clear day.

Sauble Beach

Southampton is about a 15 minute drive from main street Sauble Beach and about 25 minutes from the Martyn Cottage. There are tons of cute restaurants and shops along the main strip. These are some of ur favorite places to go:-Dizzy Bird Coffee: Coffee shop with sandwiches, smoothies, and pastries.-The Lighthouse Restaurant: Affordable delicious breakfast and lunch options located across the street from Dizzy Bird.-Walker House: Casual pub with great food in a historic building.-Smoky Cactus: It is very very hard to find good Mexican in Canada but we have done it.

Southampton Ontario

The town over from Southampton, it has a bike path connecting the two towns. There's also a 10 acre dog park that Birdie loves if you're planning on bringing your dog!

Port Elgin

Flowerpot Island is great for hiking and swimming, you can camp here too! You take a ferry from Tobermory, about 1 hour from Sauble Beach. We usually use Blue Heron cruises, make sure to book one that takes you over the shipwrecks with its glass bottom boat!

This is another great place to hike and swim near Tobermory, about 1 hour away from Sauble Beach. It has many hiking trails and breathtaking views of the Canadian wilderness.
