How can I RSVP? When should I RSVP by?
Our RSVPs are done right here on our wedding website! To find the RSVP page, please click the RSVP tab and type the name(s) listed on your invitation envelope. Kindly RSVP before Friday, August 9th, 2024. If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Any RSVPs received after this date will be marked as a ‘no’.
Where are the wedding ceremony and reception being held?
The wedding ceremony will be held at Christ Church in Georgetown, 3116 O Street NW,
Washington DC 20007.
The reception will be held at the Larz Anderson House, 2118 Massachusetts Ave NW,
Washington DC 20008
What is the dress code?
The dress code is black tie optional, so dress to impress! We ask that all guests come in evening gowns, elegant pants suits, tuxedos, or formal suits. If you are unsure about your chosen attire, please reach out to the bride and groom.
Can I bring a date?
Unfortunately our venue has a strict capacity limit so we will not be extending plus ones. We can only accommodate those listed on your specific invitation. If your partner is invited, their name is included on your Save the Date and Formal Invitation. Thank you for understanding.
Can I bring my children?
As much as we would love to include everyone’s children, unfortunately due to the capacity restriction, our wedding will be child- free. All invited individuals will be listed on your Save the Date and Formal invitation. Thank you for understanding.
What time should I arrive at Christ Church Georgetown for the Wedding Ceremony?
We kindly ask that all guests arrive between 3:30 pm- 3:45 pm. The Ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm with the doors being closed to all guests at 3:55 pm. If you happen to arrive late, you will need to wait until the ceremony is over. If this happens, you will still be able to attend the reception, so hang tight and we will see you there!
Can I take pictures and videos throughout the day?
Our ceremony inside the church will be completely unplugged. We ask all phones and cameras be put away and there to be no pictures or videos taken. This request comes not only from us, but also from the members of Christ Church. Photography during the marriage ceremony is strictly forbidden by the parish clergy and the Altar Guild. We ask that you respect us and the members of Christ Church by keeping your phone away throughout the entire ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, you are welcome to take photos and videos throughout the course of the reception!
Will there be transportation from the wedding ceremony to the reception?
Yes, transportation from Christ Church to Anderson House will be provided for all guests in attendance at the ceremony. We kindly ask that you board the buses promptly after the end of the wedding ceremony. We want to avoid causing traffic and disrupting the Georgetown residents as much as possible, so please immediately board the buses when you leave the Church. We look forward to celebrating with you at the reception!
Is there parking available at Anderson House for the reception?
Unfortunately, there is no parking available at Anderson House and street parking is extremely limited. We are advising guests to use the provided buses to get from Christ Church to Anderson House rather than driving.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! There will be an open bar. However, we want to advise guests about Anderson House’s rules regarding certain beverages not being permitted on the second floor of the venue. The venue is a historic mansion with multiple priceless pieces of art and historical furniture which they put immense effort into maintaining. Because of this, Anderson House prohibits red-colored drinks on the second floor. This includes (but is not limited to) red wine, cranberry juice, grenadine, etc. We are not planning to have any part of the reception on the second floor, however, if there is inclement weather, cocktail hour will be moved from the outdoor garden to the second floor of the venue. In the event that cocktail hour is moved, we ask that you be understanding and respect our bartenders/ servers if they are unable to accommodate your specific drink request.
What type of food will you be served at the wedding? Will there be meal options available for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?
We’ll be serving an array of passed hors d’oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down plated dinner composed of a dual protein entrée followed by a dessert bar.
There will be a vegan entrée option available to anyone who does not eat meat. If you would like to receive the vegan option, please notify us in your RSVP. Additional dietary restrictions and allergies should be noted in the RSVP so we can better accommodate your dietary requirements.
How do I get back to my hotel after the reception?
If you are staying at the Ven at Embassy Row, you are less than a 5-minute walk from Anderson House to your hotel, so no transportation is needed to get home safely! If you are not staying at The Ven, or any other surrounding hotel, we recommend taking an Uber or Taxi home. We want our guests to arrive home safely, so please refrain from driving if you have been drinking.
Will any part of the wedding be held outside? What is the weather typically like in the area?
The wedding ceremony, reception dinner and dancing will all be held inside. The only part of the wedding that will be held outside will be the cocktail hour.
Cocktail hour will be held in the garden at Anderson House. However, guests are welcomed and encouraged to use this time to tour the mansion, which is the headquarters of the Society of the Cincinnati. There will be docents present to answer questions about the many art and historical pieces displayed throughout the mansion.
Weather for September in DC can be quite variable. Typically, the high is around 80 °F and low around 65 °F. If there is rain or unseasonably warm weather, the cocktail hour will be moved inside Anderson House.
Is there a gift registry?
Yes, the registry is right here on our wedding website. Please click on the "registry" tab at the top of the page.
