When people ask Sara to describe her fiancé, she always starts with "he's unlike anyone I've ever met before". She knew he was different on their third date - when he stood in line for 45 minutes at the DMV to return the clerk's pen.
Colin won the bride with his love of all creatures, bizarre hobbies, and fascination with ranking animals he thinks he can fight. It is possible (likely?) that he will find something to rescue on the way to the wedding and insist it be given a plate at dinner.
Sara - The Bride
The groom hoped for a life that didn’t include rocking the boat, and in walked a girl likely to tip the boat over.. and he’s loving every minute of it. Colin enjoys Sara’s excellent use of language, including the daily “can you get that thing I left under the thing?”.
Sara captured Colin with her chaos, her piles of clothes, and her tendency to throw things without worrying about consequences (phones, keys, wallet, food, etc..). While Colin is very excited about his wedding, he is convinced that Sara may find a way to light the cake on fire.
Vinny - Best Man
There was never a question in Colin's mind who would stand by him on his wedding day. While Sara may complain about dealing with Colin's antics for eight years, Vinny has been Colin's best friend for nearly twenty-five. In lieu of an award for civil service for such an accomplishment, he has accepted a new title and a boutonniere.
When he's not working, Vinny enjoys traveling, motorcycles, making music, and promoting feminism by only playing female video game characters. #HeForShe
Zoe - Maid of Honor
Herself a Philadelphia implant, Sara & Zoe bonded over growing up in towns too small for them, whacky families, chunky pit bulls, and spooky stuff. A steadying presence to the bride's occasional frantic moments, her friendship is essential to the couple's support system. There is no one the bride would rather have standing next to her while she says "I do".
When she's not at work as an actual superhero, Zoe enjoys kickboxing, smashing the patriarchy, and charcuterie.
David - Groomsman
David and Colin have been friends for eight years, and his "older brother" qualities have been a source of inspiration for the groom: his hard work, reliability, and helpful nature. David is an unrepentant workaholic who may or may not be an alphabet agency spy. He is not. That was a joke.
When he's not at work, David enjoys moderating the group chat, preparing for the apocalypse, and smoking his meat.
Mel - Bridesmaid
Sara describes Mel as her "determined friend", AKA "the most stubborn". She is the first person the bride calls with a crazy idea, and usually the only person who can pull it off. Mel is the volunteer queen: be wary of any conversation with her, it will probably end with you handing out meals or collecting children's clothes for charity. Mel also enjoys cooking, karaoke, and attempting to raise her boisterous teenage son.
Colby - Groomsman
Colby met Colin through Xbox, and his wife claims that he is "not a murderer", a "normal guy". The groom idolizes Colby's Hawaiian shirt collection and his annual family trips to Disney: ultimate dad vibes. Colby fills his days playing with his son and dreaming of a time when he can successfully never leave the house again.
Caroline - Bridesmaid
The first baby Sara ever held, cousin Caroline is lucky that she was cute enough not to drop. Caroline hopes to someday be the star of a one-woman Broadway production of "The Wiggles", however her outstanding warrant for illegal donkey feeding will keep her off the international stage. Caroline can often be found perfecting her Brittany Spears impression for her cats, Asparagus and Artichoke.
Ray - Groomsman
Another member of Colin's video game guild, Ray is affectionately referred to as the old man, mostly for his tendency to fall asleep immediately after dinner. A connoisseur of bread products, he dreams of a day when he can enjoy banana bread are forever ruined by his pesky banana allergy. Ray enjoys D&D and building computers, but raising three daughters means his free time is usually saved for sleep.
Mia - Bridesmaid
Another baby cousin lucky to have survived the bride, Mia is currently bonding with her own new bundle of joy. Mia enjoys playing woodwind instruments and listening to John Mayer, traits sure to embarrass baby Kayson in 13-15 years. Someday she's going to be a nurse, but until then she's going to entertain neighbors and friends with her human-bird variety show.
Jacob - Groomsman
Jacob has been friends with Colin since they were hitting golf balls at their teammates in high school. He's since ditched the bowlcut and embraced the married/dad life. Colin loves Jacob's sense of humor, as well as his ability to grow a dad mustache. When Jacob got married, Colin nearly got arrested trying to rush back to the church after going to buy the correct pants - here's to hoping there won't be a repeat performance.
Colin considers Jacob his controversial groomsman, especially since he is a adamant believer that "the Empire did nothing wrong".
Rebecca - Bridesmaid
Miss Rebecca has been a force in the bride's life since before she was born, when she shared an office and pregnancy cravings with GiGi (Sara's mom). She was the "fun aunt" growing up, who rode carnival rides and drove like Louise Sawyer. Miss Rebecca is a constant source of inspiration and encouragement, the reason she applied to her dream job and the only reason Sara has an Indeed.
When she's not working, serving on another board, or chairing a committee, Miss Rebecca is attempting to shoehorn her husband off the farm for margarita towers and Ohio State football (O-H).
Michael - Junior Groomsman
Michael Gregory has been the apple of his Aunt Noodle's eye since he was born. As he's grown, he's impressed everyone with his wit, kindness, and ability to construct robots out of anything left unattended. His dreams to be a supervillain lead to an unusual Christmas request, one only Aunt Noodle and Uncle Colin could facilitate: his very own black suit, complete with top hat and monocle. When he isn't plotting world domination, Mikey is reading or building with Lego.
Madeline - Junior Bridesmaid
While she did not make Aunt Noodle's wedding dress herself, Madeline provided many artistic representations of what the bride should be wearing. Sara was alarmed that Uncle Colin never had feet in any of these sketches, but she has been assured that this was purely "coincidental".
Maddie is using this opportunity to practice for her future career as America's first Rockette-chef-teacher hybrid who is also a gymnast.
Jimmy - Ring Bearer
Always his granddaughter's number one fan, Grandpa Jim is very excited to play a role in her wedding. This will also be the first opportunity he and the flower girl have had to walk down the aisle together since they tied the knot 60 years ago... he'd do it again if she just said she's sorry!
Sandy - Flower Girl
Sara's Yaya will be leading the way with her basket of petals. Yaya has always been the biggest inspiration for how Sara wants to lead a family, and having her be the flower girl is how the bride wishes to bless her marriage from the start. While she and Jimmy are best friends, she will not be apologizing anytime soon.
