Our first date was in late August 2021. With both of us working in summer tourism destinations, we managed to slip in a few dates as the season drew to a close. Once fall rolled around either Sara was driving to Pick City or Eric was driving to Medora to spend every weekend together.

Sara moved to Pick City in December 2022. We had discussed getting married often and even looked at rings but Eric kept insisting it would be quite awhile before anything would happen.

We had a trip to Portugal planned in April 2023 with all of Sara's best friends from college to celebrate our 30th Birthdays. We were set to arrive on Friday night while everyone else was set to arrive Saturday morning. Eric attempted to do a sunrise proposal before everyone arrived but after 24+ hours of traveling, a sunrise was not in the cards. Instead Eric had to convince Sara to separate from the group for a short period of time. While this was no easy task, Eric finally convinced Sara to go a short distance away to the top of a monument in Lisbon while everyone else waited in line to get their Lisbon Cards.

Once we got up to the top, Eric scoped out a nice corner spot with a great view of the square and the water and that was where he proposed!
