Please carefully review the national park website to plan your trip to Glacier National Park for the most up to date and accurate information. We will share below what we know about the park.

What you need: Park Pass or pay the Entrance Fee AND a vehicle reservation.

They offer an annual park pass for $70 and one day entrance fees ($20-35). If you plan to visit the park for 2+ days, we'd recommend purchasing the annual pass. If you have the America the Beautiful Pass you can get into the park too. P.S. if you plan to visit Yellowstone while you are out here in Montana consider the America the Beautiful Pass for $80.

Glacier National Park requires a vehicle reservation for the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor, the North Fork, Two Medicine from 6 am to 3 pm. So, you can get into the park without a vehicle reservation either before 6am or after 3pm.

A portion of vehicle reservations will be available 120 days or approximately four months in advance and the remainder will be available the day before you plan to visit, check the website for more information.

There is a way to "skip" the vehicle reservation... if you book in-park lodging or an activity.

Example: Josh and our friend's, Jack and Maranda (pictured above), went to Glacier National Park for 1 night and two days. We purchased a one year park pass and booked the Avalanche campsite and a boat tour on St. Mary's Lake which gave us access to Going-to-the-Sun Road for two days. We did not have to purchase a vehicle reservation since we had a camping stay and a tour at St. Mary's Lake.

If you plan to do multiple days in Glacier National Park, try to book one activity for each day so you can eliminate the stress of needing a vehicle reservation.
