What is Shtick?

It is a part of the dancing where guests entertain the bride and groom through dancing, costumes, juggling, and silliness. It's also Sara and Shimmy’s favorite part of weddings, and we encourage lots of shtick! Feel free to bring things like inside jokes, funny things or short skits to perform. This is often a very fun and silly time.

How should you dress to the wedding?

We request that our guests come in cocktail attire.

Is there Parking at the venue?

Yes, there is plenty of parking available at the venue.

What time should I arrive?

The Kabbalat (cocktail hour) begins at 4:00 PM. This is when the best food is out. People tend to mingle during this time. You do not need to arrive right at 4:00 PM. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Yes, we would love for you to collect photos, videos, and create memories.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, friends and family will dance the bride and groom to a special room called a Yichud room (literal translation is an "alone room") so that the couple will be able to spend a few private moments together during the busy night (and also eat!). During this time everyone is welcome to go sit to have appetizers at their tables.

What if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?

If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please reach out to Shimmy or Sara before the wedding to make sure that this is accommodated. There is a section in the RSVP to outline this information, so if you filled it out there, we will have your information. If you want to double check please reach out.

What last name will the couple have?

Both Shimmy and Sara will keep their respective last names.

Do men need to wear kippas ( yarmulka, skull cap)?

A kippa is a head covering that jewish religious men wear. Often men will wear a kippa (during the ceremony. There will be kippa’s available for those who wish. There is no requirement to wear a kippa and do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Are kids welcome?

As you know, both Shimmy and Sara love kids. Due to space constraints, however, please check in with us if you would like to bring your kids along.

Who should you contact for further questions?

Feel free to reach out to Sara or Shimmy with any questions.
