Our Wedding

While we first met at college orientation in June 2016 talking about how we were both going to be running cross country together it wasn't until November 2017 that we got together just 6 weeks before Sarah left to study abroad in Spain (perfect timing!)Sarah got Alec to get his first passport and the rest is history. Sarah and Alec graduated from UNE together in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic and both stayed at UNE for PA and PT school. It was here where we moved into our first apartment together in Portland near the B+M Bean factory.After many beach days, ski days, races, summer concerts, and nights out at Bubba's we got engaged 2 days before we ran the MDI Marathon in Bar Harbor in October 2024. Shortly after, we moved into our first house together in Saco just before Christmas!We can't wait to continue our story in marriage and celebrate with all the people who have supported us along the way!

Drew was the first person brave enough to live with both Sarah and Alec when they moved next to the Bean Factory. While Alec and Drew have been best friends since 2016 it wasn't until Alec left to do clinical rotations when Sarah and Drew's friendship grew over many shared Pad Thai's from Veranda noodle bar and re-watching the Twilight Saga.
Even while tackling medical school, Drew has been there for us through it all and we wouldn't be here today without him and we can't think of anyone more fit to marry us (he is a theater kid who double majored in English after all).

Our resident bird expert and best friend/college roommate of the bride, Maeve and Sarah quickly became friends running cross country and bonding over living in one of the weirdest dorm halls at UNE. Maeve is responsible for Sarah's early transition to listening to folk music, Cardi B, and Hawaiian Roller coaster ride. If she isn't out walking Woodford around the streets of Bath you can find her at a Sea Dog's game with a hot dog in hand. Maeve has been there for it all and has shown us the most beautiful parts of Maine and always made it feel like home.

Rachael to us, but Miss S to many. Rachael has also been there since the early days running cross country at UNE. Rachael always brings the energy and has helped Sarah find her confidence and come out of her shell when she needed it the most. She brought Sarah on her first trip to Connecticut for a Chance the Rapper concert and weirdly enough Sarah hasn't been back to Connecticut since.  Rachael always has your back and if everyone had her compassion and energy for helping others the world would be a brighter place.

Without Nikki, Sarah wouldn't have gotten through PT school. Besides making jokes in the middle of lecture and long hours studying Nikki was able to find a semblance of adventure during a pandemic which brought us all together.  Nikki has helped Sarah find the joy in the little things and truly be herself. After we survived what was supposed to be a farewell road trip back to Chicago through Canadian holiday traffic, we're so glad you stayed in Maine.

Amy and Sarah may look alike but we couldn't be more different and we wouldn't change a thing. Amy is an amazing mother, dog trainer, and much to Sarah's dismay was the better athlete growing up. If there's one person who can do it all, its Amy. From Jonas brothers concerts (yes plural), running around the neighbourhood, and sharing secrets, there's no one else I would have fought over who gets player 1 on the wii with.

The best mario kart player and future author, also happens to be Alec's brother, and his best man. While you won't beat him at a game of Blockus anytime soon, this board game fanatic will help you pick out which shade of white to paint your walls. Kyle is the life of the Walker family and knows how to make any day a fun one and will always keep you laughing with a new spontaneous jingle.

Cody makes one hell of a carbonara and is the best father to Alec and Sarah's fur nephew Brody. Our nintendo guru can tell you all the cheat codes and newest updates to come (off the record). We're so lucky we get to call Cody a brother as one of the most honest and caring people we know.

The person who convinced Alec to come to UNE and run cross country at accepted students day would be none other than our captain Paul Mangiafico. From guiding a young Alec through his freshman year and helping Sarah with her PT assignments its only fitting that our frog loving friend is a part of the bridal party.

Tyler was the second brave soul to live with Alec and Sarah by the bean factory and his arrival sparked the true formation of "the bean pot boys". While his time at Saco Family Med may be over, Alec and Tyler went through PA school and the beginning of their careers together. Our favorite thing about Tyler is his wonderful taste in music, his kind and sensitive nature, and his love for bikes.

Our good friend and neighbor Drew Collins initially came into Alec and Sarah's lives as a brief teammate on the cross country team our freshman year and returned into our lives as a friend of "the bean pot boys". From ski trips, bike rides, and impromptu swims we couldn't celebrate our wedding day without our adventure loving friend Drew Collins. Bonus points because he drove 3+ hours each way to take our engagement pictures!

There are few words to describe our good friend and neighbor Ben Martin. Genius, creative, humble wine connoisseur (Seaside Sumac coming to a store near you), and dentist do come to mind. Loved by so many, we're so excited to have him a part of this day and our lives.

Reminder there is no parking at the venue. This is where we will be providing transportation to and from the venue. You are more than welcome to book a stay elsewhere or drive up for the day and park in their parking lot. Hotel block:https://www.bestwestern.com/en_US/book/hotel-rooms.20025.html?groupId= We were able to block 15 rooms with 2 queen beds at the Best Western Hotel in Brunswick. The dates are set for Friday 9/11-9/13 but you may stay any amount of time 3 days pre and post these dates. There is not a minimum requirement for the number of nights you stay. The block and locked price expires Wednesday August 12th.

For our friends and family who are flying from the UK or the West Coast:It is most likely cheapest to fly into Boston and Drive 2ish hours to the greater Portland and Harpswell areas.Portland does have an airport that is closer to the venue (35min) but, it is smaller and typically more expensive.

Where we live now Biddeford and Saco (60min south of venue)- Things to see/do: Fortunes Rocks Beach and Biddeford Pool area- Our favorite food spots: Banded Brewing, Fish and Whistle, Sweet cream ice cream, Elements Coffee shop, Time and Tide Coffee, Fika pastry shop, Quiero cafe Portland Maine (30 min from venue)- Things to see/do: Eastern Promenade (and all their food trucks), Mackworth island and Peaks island, Portland head light, Kettle Cove- Our favorite food spots: Howie's Pub, Bird and Co, Tandem Coffee, the Portland zoo, Bubbas sulky lounge, Scales, Belleflower Brewery, Pai Men miykae, Crispy Gai, Scratch Bagel (south portland) Near the Venue (Freeport, Brunswick, Harpswell, Bath, Georgetown)- Go to Cafe creme and order a stuffed croissant and an iced cappuccino in Bath- Flight Deck brewery, The Abbey, a good region to try some oysters and lobster- Things to do: Visit the LL bean store in Freeport and see the boot, Wolfe's neck state park, Popham Beach, Reid State Park, Thorne head trail Feeling adventurous:Drive another 2.5 hours along route 1 and coastal Maine and make your way to Bar Harbor and visit Acadia National Park- Food: Lunch and Dinner (those are the names of the restaraunts), Project Social- Our favorite hikes: Great Head trail (where we got engaged), Beehive trail, Acadia Mountain, Cadillac Mountain at sunrise
