Tom and Sarah met while living in Charleston in October, 2021. It started as any modern day love story - swiping right and taking a leap of faith on conversation with a complete stranger. Sarah was initially intrigued by Toms reference to the Royal Family and Tom thought he would shoot his shot with a doctor. After a few awkward messages and one cancelled date, we finally met for dinner at the (now closed) Baker and Brewer. It was there that we discovered we can talk for hours on end in the blink of an eye and that Sarah was charmed by Tom’s British accent.

Our first date was followed by many others. A few highlights include parking at Tom’s parents’ house to walk to The Obstinate Daughter (hoping we didnt get caught on the Ring doorbell!), a cooking class downtown with Chef Bob, and Tom’s first adventure to Mondos on James Island - a classy little spot that shares a parking lot with Sonic.

We quickly realized that we loved spending time together, but there was one little catch - Sarah had accepted a job in Charlotte, NC. While initially hesitant to bring this up, Tom took it in stride. The move was many months away and Tom suggested that we see how it goes. Thank goodness we did! A few months later, we packed a million boxes and might have gone a little overboard cleaning things out as we combined two kitchens into one.

And here we are! One sweet puppy, two job changes, and a million flights of stairs in our townhouse later, Tom is learning to embrace lazy weekend mornings and Sarah has realized that it is Always Sports Season in Philadelphia.

We are excited to enter this next stage of life filled with Sunday trips to Trader Joes, dinners (almost exclusively) by Chef Tom, and silent standoffs to decide who will take Jenks outside next!
