167 Raw
This lively spot has incredible food and atmosphere, however they do not take reservations. Please anticipate a wait of at least two hours. Our tip is to put your name on the list early and enjoy walking around downtown! You may be able to grab a drink next door at Bar 167 while you wait.
167 Raw Sushi Bar
The quaint flagship location of 167 Raw with plenty of cooked and raw options! Opposite to 167 Raw, you will need a reservation as they rarely can accommodate walk-ins.
Frannie & The Fox
One of our most frequented restaurants within the Hotel Emeline. All of the food is delicious, but we have been known to go just for drinks and dessert!
R Kitchen
If you’re looking for something quite unique, this is your place! Their motto, “we’re a kitchen, not a restaurant” says it all. There is a unique 5-course dinner each night and it is always a surprise! The atmosphere is relaxed and the chefs are fun and interactive. Because it is a small space, please call to make a reservation well in advance.
Lewis BBQ
This one is a must! Whether you're all about the meat or all about the sides, Lewis will never disappoint. Grab a beer from the bar while you wait in line to order at the counter. If you can't decide, our favorites are the brisket, green chili corn pudding, and collard greens!
Daps Breakfast and Imbibe
This is the perfect spot for a low-key, casual breakfast following the welcome party or the reception! They have the best hash and Sarah's favorite ‘world famous’ mimosas!
Millers All Day
Another amazing brunch option with delicious food, coffee, and cocktails. Anticipate a wait as they do not accept reservations. It is worth the wait!
Revelry
One of our most frequented breweries with a fun rooftop. The field outside was home to many kickball games!
Tom's Favorite: Lefty Loosey
Edmund's Oast
Our other top choice with an incredible outdoor patio. The welcome party will be at the adjacent Exchange building!
Sarah's Favorite: Something Cold
Holy City Brewing
Though it is a little further away in North Charleston, we promise it is worth the drive! Bonus points if you pay homage to Tom's British roots with proper fish and chips at the CODfather next door.
Sarah's Favorite: Washout Wheat
Palmetto Brewing Co.
Another great brewery located downtown. While we love this spot, we would not recommend walking to it (remind Sarah and Samantha to tell you about the time they did!)
Tom's favorite: Huger Street IPA
Please be mindful of parking rules and know that alcohol is strictly prohibited on all Charleston beaches. The tickets are steep!
Sullivan's Island
Our favorite beach and our home away from home! SI has a quaint, residential feel. We recommend a morning beach walk or spending the afternoon relaxing on the beach (with plenty of sunscreen!). In the summer, the beach will be full of dogs before 10am. If you're looking for a close by drink or snack, the Co-Op is our favorite for sandwiches and frose!
Isle of Palms
Located just down the road from Sullivan's Island, IOP is a bit more lively and has more shops and restaurants. Bigger crowds make for better people watching! IOP is another great place to spend the morning or afternoon!
Sailboat Ride
What better way to experience the Charleston harbor? Whether you have an extra evening to do a sunset harbor tour or you're looking for a mid-day dolphin sail, we highly recommend the company Charleston Sailing Adventures!
Shem Creek
Take in the view and watch for dolphins while enjoying trashcan nachos at Saltwater Cowboys (they're amazing, trust us!) or get out on the water in a kayak or on paddleboards!
