Brian and Sarah first met at a mutual friend's birthday party. They would bump into each over the next couple months while hanging out with friends and bonded over their musical tastes both oddly spanning multiple decades.
One night they teamed up at a pool table and sparks were ignited. A first date was scheduled in January 2016 and they were both smitten – from that day forward their relationship took off.
Brian brought out the travel bug in Sarah that she never knew she had and helped her overcome her fear of sushi and red meat prepared less than well done. Sarah showed Brian a new hometown side of the Los Angeles South Bay area and helped him overcome his fear of free falling in an elevator by coaxing him on to the Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure.
Over the next 5 years they would go on many adventures together exploring the US and abroad, visiting friends and family, and falling deeply in love. On December 23, 2020 they went for a long neighborhood walk as was the style of the time. On the way home they stopped for a quick breather and to take in the ocean view in Manhattan Beach. Brian dropped to one knee, told Sarah that he hoped this would be his favorite walk of the year, and asked Sarah to marry him. And Sarah said yes! It was a Festivus miracle!
