Andrew and Sarah’s relationship as a couple has always been long-distance; he lives in Michigan and she lives in Ohio. For two and a half years, every month they would make plans to see each other, sometimes twice a month. It has been hard not being able to see each other all the time, but they made it work and every time they got together was special.

Prior to becoming a couple, Andrew and Sarah had a long history of knowing each other. They went to the same high school together, one year apart, where they were both a little shy. As they spent more time together in marching band and at friends’ gatherings, they became good friends. For her senior year, Sarah got the nerve to ask Andrew to prom as a friend. He was shocked but looking back, he was so glad he said yes to her. That day was the most fun they had at a school dance and apparently, that was what sparked it all. She has been on his mind ever since.

Andrew and Sarah have been through a lot over the years. They remained friends through so much; going to the same college, having one of their first jobs at Cracker Barrel, and even attending the same church for a while. Andrew was later called to Michigan. Even so, they remained friends through the distance.

Then, God brought them back together; it was perfect timing!

Together, they went on a few dates to see how friends could be something more. On their fourth date, Andrew and Sarah went to Malabar Farm to go Square Dancing. Afterwards, they talked heart-to-heart under a pavilion for hours, mutually deciding to make it official and be a couple.

Two years later, Andrew took her hiking at Malabar and they ended up at that same pavilion. This day ended with Andrew on his knee and Sarah’s “yes” with a glee!
