Alejandro and I met the way many people do these days - on an app (Hinge, in our case). We had our first date at a barcade in the valley on February 27, 2020, just a couple weeks before the world stopped. When Covid first started, we spent our days ordering all the good takeout available at Alejandro's prime Westwood address (Jon and Vinnys, Tatsu...I love you and miss you!), walking the neighborhoods, and continuing to get to know each other.

Right away, Alejandro was amazing with Amelia and she took to him immediately. When the pandemic dragged into it's second month, Amelia and I went to Phoenix to stay with my parents and Alejandro came out to visit us a couple of times; I'm pretty sure Amelia was at least as excited as I was to see him, if not more! She had a sign name for him pretty early on, which was adorable.

Alejandro's dad experienced some health issues that had him traveling back and forth from Cleveland pretty regularly over that summer. This time apart was difficult for us and in September of 2020 we broke up. However, for my birthday a few months later, my mom randomly surprised me by making a lunch reservation at the restaurant Alejandro worked at. We hadn't really talked much, but he surprised me by showing up and treating us for my birthday! After that we pretty quickly got back to hanging out and made it official a few months later.

In December 2021, we decided to make the move from Los Angeles to the Cleveland area to help take care of Alejandro's dad (Pop-Pop, according to Amelia). The move was the best thing that could have happened for us and we have continued to get closer and closer every day since then!
