Our story actually starts in the fall of 2017, and Ian and I first met at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church while I was in school at Missouri State University in Springfield. We were both members of the worship team at the time, and on October 29, 2017, Ian and I had the opportunity to play a few worship songs together for a fall festival at the church. After we performed, I decided to sit on one of the haybales near the stage, and to my surprise, he came over and sat next to me. We engaged in conversation for over an hour before we exchanged numbers, and even this early on, I already knew we had a really special connection.




Over the next few weeks, we progressively got to know each other better at church, at local music shows, and through special events, and on December 9, 2017, Ian took me on our first official date. This was one of the most magical nights of my life, and he surprised me with a fancy dinner before we drove around town to look at Christmas lights and went ice skating. It was straight out of a Hallmark movie, and I already knew that he was the most amazing man I’d ever met. We were inseparable from that day on, and the rest is history! 




Since that night, our love continued to grow stronger, and we have made so many special memories together over the last six years. We have travelled to Tennessee, Colorado, Virginia, and Arkansas, attended numerous concerts of our favorite bands, and celebrated multiple milestones along the way including graduating with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Even though we will forever treasure these big moments, we also cherish all of the sweet, simple memories we have made including endless picnics, walks at our favorite parks and golf courses, and hikes in the mountains.




On October 14, 2023, Ian proposed underneath his grandparents’ famous sycamore tree, and it was the most incredible night of my entire life. Not only did he plan the most romantic proposal with a breathtaking fall picnic, but he also coordinated a huge surprise engagement party with all of our family and friends! It was such a joy to celebrate with everyone, and we were truly on cloud nine knowing we would spend forever together.🤍 




We are greatly looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives together in Overland Park, Kansas, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you in Sedalia for the wedding in September!
