If you know Jose (aka Hose), which you presumably do if you're here, then you're probably about as blown away as he is that he locked down such a wonderful lady like Sarah. You probably also want to know what incredible feats he had to go through to pull it off.

Unsurprisingly, he actually barely pulled it off by the skin of his teeth. Hose and Sarah met on Bumble, which means Sarah had to take the leap of faith and start the conversation. The first thing she asked him was "what's Muay Thai," because for some reason Jose actually put that as one of his interests on an app where he was trying to get women to want to talk to him. Surprisingly he was able to say something interesting enough to keep Sarah talking, and after a while he even convinced her to go on a date with him.

This is where things get shaky. At the time Jose's strategy was pretty simple, "once you get a date you need to stop talking to them until the date because you'll probably screw it up." What he didn't know at the time is that this is extremely weird, and once he stopped texting Sarah she was pretty sure he was ghosting her. However, right before she was about to text him that she was gonna cancel the date, Jose sent over a text saying "hey! still on for our dinner date later?" which was enough to rope her back in, and he lived to die another day.

Strike two came at the actual venue, which was a "horror-themed brewery," (again we're not sure how Jose pulled this off). The brewery (phantom carriage) was located in a seedy alley in an industrial part of town. It's extremely hard to find, and even when you do find it the door somehow does not have a handle, so it just seems like you did not find the right place. Then once you somehow manage to open the door, inside of the brewery is practically pitch black. So basically the brewery could be described as a series of extremely unsettling red flags.

Despite this Sarah persevered and came inside. From Jose's perspective it was actually a very poetic moment, because as she opened the door Jose saw her in the doorway, backlit but strong sunlight (which was practically blinding because he'd been inside for awhile), and she looked like an angel falling from heaven. He still remembers her daintily putting away her driving glasses as the door closed and her eyes tried to adjust to the honestly pretty ridiculous darkness in the brewery.

Again, Jose barely offset his series of bad choices by going over to give Sarah a hug, which she said "was how she knew that he was a good person, because the hug was so nice." Having won her over briefly Jose immediately soiled the moment by telling Sarah he'd already eaten even though it was clearly a dinner date they were meeting for. Despite another utterly bizarre thing they went on to have a really nice time, where Jose basically watched Sarah eat, and he worked his charms and awkward mannerisms on her.

After phantom carriage Sarah even agreed to go to another brewery with Jose to stretch the date a little longer. The two got a lyft, and things actually still went really well at the next spot, so after a while Jose tried to stretch his luck with a third. So the two hit the road and walked down the street, and Jose immediately got them lost because it turns out he has the worst sense of direction possibly of anyone ever. Despite this Sarah still had a nice time just walking and talking and getting to know him. Eventually they gave up on finding another brewery and Jose called a lyft to take them back to their cars because he was just that lost, and they agreed to go on another date.

From there the two quickly fell for each other. By the second date they had their first kiss, by the third they agreed to be exclusive, and after just two months they were saying I love you to one another. Despite how shaky and silly that first date was, and those first interactions, it became clear to them quickly that they were a match made in heaven. And so, here we are, a handful of years later, and now they're both ready to walk down the aisle and stretch that first date into something that will last the rest of their lives.
