Q + A

What should I wear to an outdoor wedding in May?

The dress code is formal, however, we want you to be comfortable throughout the day. You will be walking through grassy fields, so we advise you to keep that in mind when choosing footwear. The temperature in May can vary quite a bit, so it may get a little chilly in the wedding tent as the night progresses. It would be a smart idea to pack a blanket and/or a sweater to pull out later in the night.

Will I be able to check in at the hotel before the ceremony?

Check-in time at the Village Inn is not officially until 3PM, but their staff assured us that bags could be dropped and keys given before the ceremony. Of course, you could check in after the ceremony too.

What should I know about food allergies and dietary restrictions?

A buffet style meal will be served for supper and this will take into consideration many common food allergies. In addition, there will be clear signage marking alternative options for all contents of food and beverage, including cocktail hour, the entrée, dessert, and coffee/tea.

How will the ceremony parking work?

Parking for the ceremony will be in a well-marked triangle-shaped field one lot south of the ceremony location (location provided on home page). Following parking, guests will follow a direct path from their car to the lakeside field where they will be seated for the ceremony.

How will reception parking work?

There will be a well-marked area following the third driveway just south of the wedding tents at the Farm.

What will there be to do between the ceremony and reception?

Following the ceremony, there will be designated areas to capture your own personal photos at the lake. A cocktail hour will begin at the farm at 5PM. There will also be a host of outdoor games and designated seating areas on the farm grounds to relax. You could also stretch your legs with a walk on quiet Holden Road and across Selwyn to residential Long Point Road along the water.
