We've picked these hotels for location and reviews and their availability (as of March 2025).All of the options below are under 25 minutes by public transit, or a 15 minute uber ride to the Ceremony &amp; Reception.Wherever you decide to stay, we recommend booking early as places have limited capacity and fill up. Prioritize a place that feels comfortable to you, and feel free to reach out with questions about the location and recommendations! They will start enforcing it in May 2025 and you'll need it to fly.

Do I need a rental car? NO! There is no need for a car, and parking is a nightmare. An uber from the airport is $30-50, or the BART train will take you into town for $10. Ubers from one end of the city to the other are typically $15-25, and the trains and buses can take you anywhere you want to go! We've even taken the train to a friends wedding at City Hall!

Get a Clipper Card to use the public transit! All of the public transit in the bay area uses the Clipper Card, and you can get a digital version on your phone for easy reload and use! <a href="https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/pay-with-phone" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Go here to download a clipper card to your google or apple wallet.</a>If you'd prefer a physical card, you can purchase one at the BART station at the train, or any of the major underground train stations. For using the public transit, Google Maps has very accurate times and generally every line is every 15 minutes.

This is a small, 4 star boutique hotel a block from our apartment, and three blocks from the reception venue. It's very cute and located close to public transit and some of our favorite bars and coffee shops!Roughly $300 a night, 4.6 stars on Google Maps.

The Metro Hotel

A decent 3 star local hotel (with parking!) in a good location in SF. Great access to public transit, fun neighborhood (Castro, gay town), and just a quick train ride or uber to the ceremony and reception! Around $200-250 a night, 4.4 stars on Google Maps.

Beck's Motor Lodge

A cute little Victorian themed bed and breakfast thats just a couple of blocks from Alamo Square park and the famous painted ladies, and an easy bus ride or uber to the reception venue. Its not on a train line, but on an easy bus line, and not on a busy street so you have to walk a few blocks to a nearby neighborhood for stuff to do. Roughly $250 a night, 4.8 stars on Google Maps

Chateau Tivoli Bed and Breakfast

One of the simpler and cheaper options. 3 Star Hotel Right by Alamo Square Park and the famous Painted Ladies. Not near a train line but with great bus access. On a quieter street, so you have to walk a few blocks to a nearby neighborhood for stuff to do.Around $200 a night, 4.5 stars on Google Maps.

The Grove Inn

In Castro (gay town), super fun neighborhood. You will see naked men on the street occasionally. Very close to transit and things to do. A great option if you want to be in the heart of the city! $250ish a night, 4.5 stars on Google Maps

The Hotel Castro

One of the simpler and cheaper options! 2 star hotel right by Alamo Square Park, not near a train line but with great bus access. Not on a busy street, so you have to walk a few blocks to a nearby neighborhood for stuff to do. Around $100 a night, 3.7 stars on Google Maps.

Casa Loma Hotel

No frills, simple hotel in the heart of Hayes Valley, a very nice and cute little neighborhood. Walking distance to City Hall, with good access to bus and a few blocks from the train. $150 a night roughly, 4.5 Stars on Google Maps.

Things to Do

World-class park with endless thing to do. From a museum, to a tea garden, the conservatory of flowers, and Bison, you will never run out of things to see here. (You can also drink in any park here, so post up with a beer in hand and enjoy the sights)

Golden Gate Park

The 'Party Park' in the city. Perfect to sit on a blanket on the grass, people watch, and have a street vendor make you a cocktail in a coconut.

Dolores Park

Wander the historic Hippie district in SF. See the shops, the houses where the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jimmy Hendricks lived, and walk to Golden Gate Park after!

Haight-Ashbury Street Art

Get a coffee and walk down Valencia street. Theres tons of fun shops and restaurants

Take a light hike in the old miliary district in SF and get gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Presidio 

The ferry building has a beautiful view of the water and hosts a bunch of cute little shops and a killer farmers market

Coffee and Food

Sarahs favorite bakery in SF. They're fantastic. Sarahs favorite is the Biscuit with Jam or the Raspberry Brioche, and Lou loves the sandwiches or the Captain Crunch Cookie.

Jane The Bakery

Hands down the best croissant in the city, voted one of the best in the US. Get there early before they run out, but skip the coffee (its awful)

Arsicault Bakery

An adorable coffee truck that sets up in Alamo Square Park. View the painted ladies and get an amazing latte from the only female roaster in SF!

Lady Falcon Coffee Club

An infamous local SF bakery. An amazing place to grab lunch if you're in the neighborhood, but skip the Mission District location, the lines get insane and they have a more limited menu.

Tartine Inner Sunset

A great local chain, and our favorite local coffeeshop. Located close to the reception venue. Try the vanilla iced cold!

Sightglass Coffee

The CUTEST little cafe with a gorgeous patio, and amazing food.

Stable Cafe

Incredible dumpling spot, highly recommend the Pork Bao. If you're closer to a Dumpling Home, they're the same local chain.

Dumpling Story

The quintessential SF korean food experience. A tiny, converted garage family owned spot. Its hard to beat!
