We met in 2017 through our mutual friends Maggie and John. Matthew was standing up in their wedding and Sarah was doing a reading. Maggie and John had previously thought they would be a great match. Our timing finally lined up at the end of 2019. We went to Notre Dame for a weekend to visit our friend and Sarah left the weekend with a giant crush on Matthew. Finally after a fundraiser that we attended in January 2020 Matthew decided to ask Sarah out. We got a couple of dates in before the world shut down with Covid. With all of the unknowns and Matthew regularly picking up sick people for a living, we went months without seeing each other in person. We did FaceTime and talk regularly, even sending each other little gifts throughout the time apart. In May 2020, we finally started going on in person dates again and things took off from their. Since then life has been that much better for both of us. Matthews love of Purdue and traveling have rubbed off on Sarah as well as Sarah's knack for party hosting on Matthew (he actually has food at these events now and not just Busch Light). Life for the two of us has been filled with lots of trips, a ton of parties, and countless days laughing together.

In June of 2023, Matthew lured Sarah onto their South Loop balcony by relying on her curiosity and telling her there was commotion below on the street. Matthew was able to take Sarah by surprise and ask that she spend the rest of her life with him and she responded with a resounding Yes! We are so excited to celebrate in June and start the rest of our lives together.
