Kyle and Sarah met in Washington, DC, in February 2022. Kyle had recently moved to the DC area to manage a construction project, and Sarah had lived in DC post-graduation.

Like most people these days, Kyle and Sarah met on the dating app Hinge. Kyle planned a date at a local beer garden, and they spent the afternoon laughing and getting to know each other. They both knew from the first date that there was something special between them, and they continued exploring DC during the weeks and spending many weekends in Annapolis with family and new friends!

Kyle was promoted in August 2023 and offered a new project in State College, Pennsylvania, so Sarah and Kyle packed up their DC lives and began their journey to Penn State - WE ARE! Moving to a new state, starting a new project, and living together for the first time turned out to be a memorable adventure, and Kyle and Sarah knew they could do anything if they had each other.

Kyle began lying to Sarah, who is notoriously nosey and soon found the perfect ring for her. In November 2023, Kyle continued his lies and set out on a day trip to Annapolis to ask Chris and Jan’s permission to marry their daughter.

On November 17, 2023, Kyle planned the perfect evening at Chart House, known for their fantastic views of the bay. Three martinis, a bottle of wine, and a chocolate lava cake later, he was ready. Sarah wanted to travel to another bar to meet friends, but Kyle made up an excuse to return to the house. Kyle lured Sarah to the backyard dock, where a “Will you marry me?” sign hung! Kyle got down on one knee, pulled a loose diamond ring out of his pocket, and popped the question! When they made their way up to the house, Sarah’s best friend was there to surprise her, along with Sarah’s parents, Kyle’s family on Facetime, and a sneaky photographer!
