Kylea Rogers - Maid of Honor
I first met Kylea during, of all things, sorority recruitment. Being one year older than me, she was assigned as my "big" sister and I think I knew immediately our friendship would extend far beyond greek life. Kylea is kind, welcoming, grounded, and beautiful. She has been my first phone call during the hardest and happiest moments in college and beyond. I truly feel like she takes care of me. She may be a little sister in her own family, but she will always be my Big *cue eye-roll*. Thank you for being my mentor, my confidant, and above all my best friend. ~S
Tyler Shiffman - Best Man
Tyler's "anything goes" and "everyone's welcome" attitude drew me in immediately, and we became fast friends. We bonded over music, fitness, our beliefs about life, and how everyone deserves to be treated with love and respect. He has always made the people around him feel seen. Tyler's the kind of guy who starts a conversation with the person standing alone in the corner at a party. Without a doubt, I would not be the person I am today if I hadn't met Tyler, and I am so grateful that he's my best friend and my best man. ~H
Rosie Rich - Bridesmaid
I still remember visiting Hunter's family's house and meeting Rosie-bird for the first time. She was just starting 9th grade and she had blonde hair down past her waist and was talking about cutting it all off! We talked about high school approaching and the teachers she would have. Her laugh was just as contagious then as it is now. She is such a steady and calming presence, I can't believe she's almost half way through college now and is starting to intern and travel. Bird, you are going to change the world, I'm so grateful I get to call you family. ~S
Devin Ricker - Groomsman
I am so psyched to be brothers-in-law with Devin. I don't think we'll ever run out of things to talk about. What, with our endless hobbies in Formula 1, cycling, fishing, golfing, RC cars, fitness, skiing, hiking. I'm constantly humbled and inspired by Devin's natural mechanical skills - he's just like his dad with his ability to figure out how things work and fix them (or at least convince everyone they are). I learn something new from him every time we hang out, and I can't wait for a lifetime of new hobbies, projects and sarcastic comebacks. ~H
Maggie May - Bridesmaid
I think I knew Maggie was the coolest girl in school in first grade. I was the new kid and she was the curly haired townie with all the soccer trophies. We went through elementary school as buds and 10 years later took all our favorite high school classes together, making lop-sided mugs in ceramics and horrible skit performances in philosophy. Whether it's trips to DC or the brewery down the street, she's my go-to. She has always been there for me, as a kind and calming friend to share my insecurities, problems, hopes and dreams with. I couldn't imagine getting married without her next to me. ~S
Bryce Bradley - Groomsman
Bryce played soccer with Tyler and Bryce D, so we'd always end up hanging out on the weekends. What started with mutual friends, became the most reliable, put-together, loyal friend I've ever known. He texts back immediately. He always answers the phone. He somehow knows when to listen, when to make a joke, when to give advice, or when to change the subject entirely. If Bryce says he's going to do something, he does it. He's side-splitting funny, down-to-earth, and the easiest friend I ever made. ~H
Erin Bordman - Bridesmaid
Erin is one of the most lovable, intelligent, and kind hearted people I’ve ever met. She and I became close friends during the pandemic when we moved in next-door from each other. We would visit each other’s rooftops for occasional tanning sessions until we mutually decided during one of our many giggling fits: “let’s be friends, like for real.” Now that she is has moved to NYC for law school, I guess I’ll have to get over my disdain for the city and visit my favorite Kansas girl for many more good times to come. ~S
Ansh Goswami - Groomsman
When I moved from Ohio to Maryland smack-dab in the middle of high school, I didn't think I'd make another friend like Bryce, Bryce or Tyler. The idea of lightning striking twice for friends like that would be impossible. And then this kid shows up at after-school calculus tutoring. Since then, we've pulled outrageously unsafe stunts, pretended to know about quantum mechanics for the sake of long conversations, visited India for the trip of a lifetime (but hopefully not for the last time), and truly become brothers. ~H
Claudia Cavanaugh - Bridesmaid
Claudia (CC) is one of my longest, truest friends. I've never felt more myself than when we're together. We met when we were at the ripe, awkward age of 10 and spent each summer together at sleep away camp in Maine, and we were inseparable - with our names signed side-by-side on the boathouse ceiling to prove it. As we got older and outgrew camp, CC and I kept in touch, visiting each other when we could. Whether it was 2 days, or 2 years since we last saw each other, it always feels like no time had passed. The 15-year-old-inside-jokes are just as funny as ever. ~S
Bryce Duchesne - Groomsman
Bryce and I have been best friends since middle school. We've gone through so many life changes together, and been by each other's side for all of them. He's so introspective and emotionally intelligent, and he's helped me gain perspective on life more times than I can count. It's not that we can't make small talk, but when we talk, we usually skip right past the "how's work" and "what'd you think of the Madrid game" and go right for the good stuff. He genuinely cares so deeply for those in his life, and I am beyond grateful that he's in mine. ~H
Sydney Wishnow - Ceremony Speaker
Sydney Wishnow, or as Hunter calls her Sydnow Wishney, was one of my first friends in college. We were a couple of Mass-holes in a sea of Jersey girls. I’ve always thought Syd was one of the smartest, most ambitious, hard working people. She was always inviting me to professional events on campus and encouraging me to sign up for leadership roles in our sorority. I have always found comfort in our long conversations, whether they were in Letts Hall or Dupont Circle sushi spots. Syd easily became a close friend of me and Hunters, and we both agree there’s no one more fitting to join us during our ceremony with a few words. Love you, Syd. Thank you for being a part of our big day. ~S
Vikram Aggarwal - Officiant
Vikram has known Sarah since her knee cap was on backward (if you know, you know). He and Alysa babysat a couple of times, and we almost never saw them again. Fortunately, they stuck around and have been like an aunt and uncle ever since. As the years flew by and Hunter showed up, Vikram was an amazing mentor to them both. He has an innate ability to see the big picture and has encouraged Sarah and Hunter to do the same in their professional and personal journeys- whether it's travel recommendations, career ambitions, or post-college scaries. He's also the Sommelier of the Ricker Family, and a wicked good parallel parker. Sarah and Hunter are so grateful to him for officiating their big day, and are looking forward to sharing life's big moments for many years to come. ~S&H
