Our first date was October 1st, 2022. We had to improvise after our kayak reservation was cancelled due to wind! We walked to see the Lincoln Memorial, Darren made a joke about his height and mentioned he loved Shrek, Sarah told him her favorite color was purple and about the time her dad broke a rib jet skiing. Later dates included Hayride/corn maze, many dinners, Ice skating (picture above), art studio, Plays, rock climbing, DC cherry blossoms, Hiking, Movie at home, Mini golf, Garden, Renaissance Fair, Bowling, Concerts... you get the idea.

Darren had help from some of Sarah's family to decorate the house so it was ready for Sarah to walk in after dinner and covertly capture our special moment (thank you Zach & Marjorie!). Darren played piano & sang a song he composed for Sarah titled "How Beautiful You Are." Sarah was caught completely by surprise when he popped the question, but it was an easy yes!
