In Summer 2019, Sarah and her friend, Heather, decided to join a Volo kickball league where they were randomly placed onto a team with Spenser and his friends. On the day of the first match, Spenser and Sarah were the first people to show up and they struck up a conversation. Spenser, knowing most of the team, made sure to introduce Sarah to everyone to make her feel more included. Over the course of the season, Spenser also began bringing his dog, Ava, to a few games to cheer them on (i.e. bark obnoxiously). After each game, all the teams would go to a local bar called The Watering Bowl (RIP) where they would play games of flip cup and this factored into the overall score for each week's match. Sarah was, and is, terrible at flip cup, but Spenser tried his best to teach her. Sarah always thought Spenser was just friendly, but at the end of season party it became clear there was more between the two and they continued to hangout even after the season ended.

In 2020, during the Pandemic and Tiger King mania, Sarah and Spenser grew closer throughout quarantine. As the lockdowns lifted and their relationship flourished, they took on adventures across the US and the Globe. From Arkansas, to Disneyland, to Boston, and all the way to Japan they grew together as partners and friends.

In October 2023 when Spenser proposed he took Sarah back to Cranmer Park where they first met (pictured above).
