Savannah and Spencer met the way many great love stories begin… at work — teaching at W. T. White High School. But this wasn’t one of those “love at first sight” situations. It was more like… Spencer finally decided to actually get to know Savannah, and once he did, he was all in.

To secure his spot in her life, Spencer came up with a foolproof plan: a work happy hour — which was totally a normal team hangout and definitely not just a way to make sure Savannah would show up. Savannah tried to get out of it (as she does), but Spencer was persistent and waited it out until she finally arrived. Once she did, they proceeded to basically ignore everyone else and talk only to each other the entire time.

Naturally, Spencer asked Savannah out the next day. Savannah knew it was coming because Spencer is not subtle. He even offered two great date options — a Rangers game or a nice dinner. Savannah, in true Savannah fashion, chose option #3: reject Spencer and say she didn’t want to date.

But Spencer didn’t panic — he simply continued to exist in her life. They texted on and off until Spencer eventually said he needed some space and Savannah needed to figure out what she wanted. And that’s when Savannah realized… she actually liked him (unfortunately).

Fast forward two and a half years later: Spencer proposed in Durango, Colorado during a ski trip in March 2025. He found a scenic overlook with a perfect view of the city and asked Savannah to marry him — and somehow managed to make it the most thoughtful, romantic moment ever. As if the proposal wasn’t perfect enough, Spencer then surprised Savannah by having her mom there that night to celebrate (cue happy tears).

Now Savannah and Spencer have built a life together they love — with their three dogs, Pyper, Leo, and Rhett, who run the house. They spend their time taking road trips, supporting each other in coaching, laughing a lot, and doing life side by side. They’re so excited to celebrate their next chapter with all of their favorite people.
