Savannah and Colin went to college together at Iowa State University and met for the first time (in person) on February 8th, 2017. They had known of each other for several months through a mutual friend. Savannah was eating lunch in the Trophy Room at the Memorial Union when she looked up and saw Colin walking past her table. She immediately pointed at him and yelled, "Colin!" and then he just raised his hand to wave and said, "Hi." They chatted for a few minutes, took a picture together to send to their mutual friend (picture below), and added each other on Snapchat!

Savannah and Colin attended a very rainy Iowa State football game! Savannah met Colin's dad and step-mom, Shawn and Allison. Colin also got to meet Savannah's dad, Lester.

Colin brought Savannah to Des Moines for Allison's family Thanksgiving for the first time.

Savannah was the President of the organization, TWLOHA UChapter, her last year of college. Colin came to support Savannah and participated in the Run For It 5K that was being held for the organization.

Savannah walked across the stage at her college graduation (although she had one last summer semester to go before she was officially done). Colin came to cheer Savannah on!

Savannah and Colin traveled to Milwaukee to see Logic in concert at the Summerfest Music Festival! Logic was Colin's favorite musical artist and introduced his music to Savannah. It was their first concert they attended together!

Savannah participated in her first Bix 7 race with Colin in his hometown of Davenport. It was a hot, long race, but they crossed the finish line together! Savannah got to meet Colin's mom, Pam, and some other family members over the weekend.

On September 10th, 2018, Colin and Savannah went mini golfing. After they were done and had arrived back to Colin's apartment, Colin unexpectedly asked Savannah to be his girlfriend! To this day, Savannah has kept the score card from that day of mini golfing in her center console of her vehicle!

Savannah and Colin at another ISU football game! They watched the game with Colin's brother and dad. #24 Iowa State beat #16 West Virginia 30-14 that night! Iowa State fans stormed the field at the end of the game!

Savannah and Colin traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend their first Twenty One Pilots concert together.

Savannah and Colin got dressed up and spent the evening out to celebrate their first 6 months of dating!

Savannah and Colin traveled to Okoboji, Iowa for a mini vacation with Pam and Cael!

Savannah and Colin decided in June of 2020 to make the move to Davenport, Colin's hometown. Savannah left on July 12th, 2020 after almost 5 years of living in Ames. Colin joined Savannah a week later. They spent a lot of time on FaceTime together the week they were apart.

Savannah and Colin went to the Wisconsin Dells for another mini vacation!

Savannah and Colin traveled to Milwaukee for another visit to the Summerfest Music Festival to attend their second Twenty One Pilots concert together.

Savannah and Colin went to Chicago to attend Savannah's first NFL game. The Bears played the Giants and won 29-3!

Savannah and Colin bought their first house!

Savannah and Colin left their old apartment for the last time and finished moving into their new home together!

Savannah and Colin traveled to Kansas City to watch the Red Sox (Colin's favorite MLB team) play the Royals. It was 100+ degrees and the Red Sox lost, but they had an amazing time together!

Savannah and Colin traveled to St. Louis to celebrate their 4 year anniversary. They visited the Arch, played mini golf, and then attended their third Twenty One Pilots concert together!

Savannah and Colin learned that Savannah was pregnant! They were so scared as it had been unplanned, but were excited at the thought of becoming parents.

Savannah ran a 5K at the Quad Cities Marathon. Colin woke up at 5 am to come cheer Savannah on!

Savannah and Colin traveled to the Dominican Republic for a week with Cael, Pam, and Pam's boyfriend and his family. It was the first time both Colin and Savannah traveled out of the county.

Savannah and Colin announced their pregnancy to all their friends and family!

Savannah and Colin found out that Baby Samuelson was a BOY!

Savannah and Colin welcomed their first child, Oliver Shawn Michael Samuelson, into the world.

Colin finally popped the question and Savannah said yes!
