July 2020

In the midst of the pandemic, Joey and I both found ourselves falling into the world of online dating. Though neither of us expected to find anything serious. We matched on the infamous Tinder. Yikes! We quickly felt a connection and Joey asked me to dinner. I declined, as I wanted something a little more casual for a first date. So we met for lunch and a couple drinks. It was then we discovered just 5 months prior, both of our families were at the same brewery following one of our favorite acoustic singers. You can actually see the table where Joeys family and friends were sitting at in the background of some photos I took with my family that night.

August 2020

We were unsure how long distance dating would work with Joey finishing his last year of college and football. We gave it a few months and we both realized, no matter how hard life was going to be, we wanted to make it work! Over a carpet picnic in a hotel room in Virginia, Joey finally told me he loved me and we were official! I would muster up the nerves to meet the amazing Lama family the following Christmas. The next couple of years were filled with special moments with our families, fun date nights and adventures, and falling deeper and deeper in love.

September 2022

This month was especially memorable. Joey landed an Assistant Superintendent position at Cat Island Golf Club right outside of Beaufort, SC. Once again, we had to be long distance but only for 3 incredibly long months. In November, our 10 year old pitbull and I joined Joey and moved into our very first townhouse down in Beaufort. I started working with an amazing company from home and our new chapter in the lowcountry of South Carolina, officially started.

December 24th 2023

It was already the best Christmas Eve I couldve ever dreamed of, with my parents being able to join me with Joey for the Lama version of Feast of the Seven Fishes. Never in a million years was I expecting what was about to happen. Joey asked me if I wanted to open a gift, which is not uncommon for Christmas Eve. He hands me an enveloped card, I was expecting maybe a concert ticket or a gift certificate. But once I read the card and we made eye contact, my heart skipped a beat. He got down on one knee in the living room, with both our families surrounded by the Christmas tree, and he asked me to be his wife. The rest of the night felt like I was dreaming. We are so incredibly blessed and excited to celebrate our marriage with each and every one of you! See y’all soon 😘

The Ceremony 4:00pm

Our Ceremony will be held at The Barn at Broadslab. The physical address is 4676 NC-50 South, Benson, NC 27504. Please make sure you arrive promptly as we will begin at 4:00pm. Our ceremony will be held outside behind the patio. Help yourself to any side of the aisle as we truly are one welcoming and loving family!

Unplugged Ceremony

We invite you to be fully present with us during the ceremony by turning off your devices and refraining from taking pictures and videos. We promise to share all of the beautiful memories our media team captures during our ceremony! Thank you!

Parking

When you arrive, follow the gravel road to the very end. You’ll park in the lot on the left. You will see two barn type buildings directly in front of the lot. If for any reason you or a member of your family needs to be dropped off at the barn prior to parking, you may do so.

Cocktail Hour 4:30pm

Cocktail hour will begin at 4:30, following the ceremony. We will have a couple of passed appetizers and an outdoor bar. Please enjoy yourselves while the immediately family and wedding party take pictures.

Reception 5:30pm

Our event coordinator will open the barn at 5:30pm. Feel free to take a look around and find your seats. We will start with wedding party introductions and go right into our special dances. Dinner will start at 6:00pm.

Want or need to do some shopping? The Smithfield Outlet Mall is right down the road from your hotel! This strip mall is a frequently visited place for the locals who don’t want to travel to Raleigh. You cannot take a trip to the Outlets without visiting Dewaynes!
