Mammoth Lakes is a mountain town located in the Eastern Sierras of California. It is a popular summer destination for adventurers looking to enjoy it's many lakes and scenic mountains. Our wedding will be held at Convict Lake Resort, which is ten miles south of downtown Mammoth Lakes. Convict Lake Resort has cabins available on-site, which are walking distance from the ceremony and reception areas. Cabins will book up fast so plan accordingly if you want to stay on-site! Many other lodging options are available in the town of Mammoth Lakes, a fifteen minute drive from the wedding venue. See below for travel and lodging recommendations. Please note- Uber, Lyft, and other ride share services are NOT available in the Mammoth area! There is plenty of free parking available at Convict Lake Resort for people who are staying off-site.
The nearest major airport is Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). From Reno, it is a three hour (170 mile) drive to Mammoth Lakes, passing by the eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park, Mono Lake, and June Lake. Take a detour to Lake Tahoe or take the Mammoth Scenic Loop for great views of Mammoth Mountain.
If flying into Southern California, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a five to six hour drive (310 miles), depending on traffic. Other Southern California airports include Long Beach Airport (LGB) and John Wayne Airport (SNA), both of which are smaller and less busy than LAX. From the Los Angeles area, take the scenic Route 395 to Mammoth. Make sure to keep an eye out for Mount Whitney, the tallest peak in the contiguous United States, when passing through Lone Pine!
From Southern California:
Mammoth Lakes is a five to six hour (310 miles) drive from Southern California. Take State Route 14 or Interstate 15 to Route 395, which drops you right into the Mammoth area. Enjoy views of Mount Whitney, stop for a bite to eat in Lone Pine, or check out Alabama Hills, which has appeared in hundreds of movies.
From San Francisco:
Mammoth Lakes is a five to six hour (260 miles) drive from the San Francisco area. Take Intestate 580 to 205 to Route 120, which takes you right through Yosemite National Park (reservations may be required to enter the park on weekends and holidays). Tioga Pass, which is the highest elevation mountain highway in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in all of California, will drop you onto Route 395 which will lead you to Mammoth. Take the Mammoth Scenic Loop into town for beautiful mountain views.
From Oregon:
Mammoth Lakes is an eight hour drive (500 miles) drive from Southern Oregon and a twelve hour (700 miles) drive from Northern Oregon. Routes vary depending on starting location. Consider stopping at Crater Lake National Park, Mount Shasta, or Lake Tahoe if they are on your route!
Convict Lake Resort has 28 cozy mountain cabins and 3 lodges nestled amongst the beautiful Aspen trees. The cabins can accommodate anywhere from 2 to 32 people. All cabins are air conditioned, fully furnished, with fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, propane BBQ grills, DirecTV, toiletries and linens. Several cabins also feature indoor jetted tubs, steam showers and outdoor hot tubs. All cabins are walking distance to the ceremony and reception sites, the General Store, Convict Lake Restaurant, and the Aspen Grill. From the resort, it is a 10 minute walk or 1 minute drive to Convict Lake.
BOOKING INFORMATION:
There is a three night minimum on all cabins. A 50% deposit is required to book. Cabins can be booked on Convict Lake Resorts website or by calling (760)934-3800. Please book your cabins ASAP to ensure availability. The cabins will book up VERY quickly. Convict Lake Resort is normally fully booked for the summer before summer even begins!

Located six miles south of Convict Lake, McGee Creek Lodge has eight rooms and two cottages. All rooms and cottages have window AC units and rustic charm. Listen to the creek while taking in the views of Crowley Lake. It is a seven minute drive to the wedding venue and a thirteen minute drive to the town of Mammoth Lakes.

Outbound Mammoth is a newly renovated resort, featuring air conditioned guestrooms, cabins, chalets and villas. Located in Old Town Mammoth, there is a plethora of dining options nearby. Outbound is a 12 minute drive from the wedding venue.

The Mammoth Creek Inn is a charming and cozy lodging option located in Old Town Mammoth. It is a 12 minute drive from the wedding venue. Please note that rooms are NOT air conditioned. Weather in the Eastern Sierras is unpredictable and the highs could be in the 60s or in the low 90s. Please keep this in mind when booking.
