FAQs

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by Saturday, June 8th, 2024. Por favor confirmar antes del 8 de junio, 2024.

Can I bring a date?

Your unique RSVP will indicate the number of people you may bring.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we do have a space capacity. Please contact us in advance if you plan on bringing a child.

What will the weather be like?

July in Guatemala is the rainy season, which is a combination of warm, sunny mornings and rainy afternoons. Temperatures during this period range from 22°C (72°F) to 25°C (77°F). We will have tents for the venue at the event in case it rains.

What should I wear?

Wedding formal, long or midi formal dresses, suits. Wear appropriate shoes. Antigua has cobblestone on the streets, the welcome cocktail will be in a garden, and dinner will be on a tiled floor. Formal, vestidos formales largos o midi, trajes. Usar zapatos adecuados. Antigua tiene calles empedradas, el cóctel de bienvenida será en un jardín y la cena será en un suelo con baldosas.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is indoors in a church. The welcome cocktail and dinner/reception will be outdoors. We will have tents at the dinner location with tiled floors, and the welcome cocktail will be in a garden without tents.

How do I use Internet or Data?

The most cost-effective method is to get a SIM card at the airport (look for "Tigo" or "Claro" and place it into an UNLOCKED phone. The booths are located before customs, so be on the lookout. You can use a hotspot to connect other devices to that phone. SIM cards usually cost $30 or less for two weeks versus using roaming data, which is usually $10 a day. However, roaming will let you keep using your US phone number if you need it for work / personal reasons. Also, using WAZE for driving navigation is preferred. Google Maps is better for walking but not as good for driving in Guatemala.

Currency Exchange Rate?

The local currency is Quetzales, which is typically about 7.8Q to 1 USD. You can use a credit card in most places (select to pay in the local currency instead of USD to save more money). However, carrying around cash for some vendors, taxis, etc, will be important as small shops/vendors won't take credit cards. You can exchange at the airport (probably not the best rate) or a bank (likely the best rate). Remember, 7.8Q is the rate you're trying to target.

Driving in Guatemala

Please feel free to coordinate driving with other guests. Driving definitely gives you the most freedom in Guatemala, as in every city, you would have to drive, take a shuttle, or fly. You can reserve a rental car online in advance with the big brands, but also going to the airport and asking rental car companies for their prices could save you a lot. You need to be patient, as traffic is very heavy around Guatemala City and Antigua. We do not advise using public transportation as it is unreliable and could be unsafe.

Should I bring insect repellant?

Because of the climate we recommend bringing some sort of insect repellant. I’ve used repellant wipes which have worked great — only a few dollars. Aerosol cans may not be allowed at the airport.
