IMPORTANT FLIGHT INFORMATION (AMERICAN GUESTS):
Now is the perfect time to use those points you've been saving!
You will fly into La Aurora (Guatemala City) International Airport (GUA). The airport is located in Guatemala City, or about a 1 -2 hour drive /taxi ride to Antigua. Check Waze for a better estimate, as traffic conditions vary heavily on the day/time. You can book a shuttle from the airport to Antigua through GuateGo https://guatego.com/Guatemala/La_Aurora-to-Antigua_Guatemala/. It should cost you about $19 per person.
Major airports may have direct flights to GUA. Common airlines are United, Delta, Avianca, and Copa Airlines. The budget carriers may be more affordable, but please pay attention to the luggage policy. Avianca, for example, charges for carry-ons or checked bags but is usually the cheapest option for the fare.
American passports do not require a Visa to enter Guatemala. However, those with other passports may want to call /check their respective country's embassy or the Guatemala Consular office to find out if there are any Visa requirements.
HOTELS:
Porta Antigua Hotel and Villa Bokéh Boutique Hotel are near the venues. Antigua has plenty of accommodation options as it is a very touristy area. AirBnB options are also suitable for your stay. If you are considering staying in the city, we recommend spending the night in Antigua the day of the wedding, as a taxi/Uber might not be an option back to the city late at night.
If you stay close to or south of the main square in Antigua, you will be within walking distance (~13 and ~23 min) of the venues. Just keep in mind that the streets are cobblestone, and there is a high chance of rain in July, so please plan accordingly.
