Shae and Jake formally met freshman year of high school in the Methuen High School marching band. Although they were in the same section (both marching clarinet) they didn't get to really know each other until their senior year.

Unbeknownst to Shae and Jake at the time, but what they realized later, is that they actually first met each other at The Chapel School for pre-school.

Jake and Shae stayed in contact while both in college at UMass Lowell and after Jake transferred to SNHU online, and saw each other when hanging out with friends from high school for holidays, birthdays, and other events.

Jake moved in to an apartment with their friend Scott in May of 2020. During this time, Shae would often make plans with Scott to hangout and included Scott and Jake in her small social bubble. Although Shae and Jake had known each other for a while at this point and were friends, this time brought the two of them closer, and helped them eventually realize their feelings for each other.

The couple started dating on August 10th of 2020, and since then they've celebrated countless occasions and travels together, and with shared friends and family members. They've lived in two apartments, have a rabbit (Henrietta), a cat (Koda) and many plants, and have grown as individuals and as a pair in innumerable ways.
