One of our favorite hikes to see waterfalls and the beautiful fall colors. Some steep spots and trail close to the cliffs at parts, but a pretty relaxing hike.

Dead River Falls

2.8 miles round trip. May take you 90 min to 2 hours to hike this little U.P. mountain and back. The trail is a little rough, but the view is worth it.

Hogback Mountain Trail Head

Our ceremony location. You can drive around this isle, but be sure to make a few pit stops at lookout points and walk out onto Black Rocks. Black Rocks will be a bigger parking lot on your right and is known cliff jumping spot. Great place for sunsets and picnics.

Similar view as Hogback Mountain but easy hike with a nice groomed trail.

Sugarloaf Mountain

Walk through the woods to get to the beach area with a great view of the city of Marquette. In the summer you can walk in the water from the beach to the island to enjoy cliff jumping and a nice little hike.

Little Presque Isle

A nice walk to a really neat waterfall.

Laughing Whitefish State Scenic Site

If you have an extra day in the area this is about an hour drive from Marquette. The incredible views of Lake Superior and fun hikes are endless.

Do you believe finding your "person" is easy? That once you find one another everything will fall into place? Do you think the world will open up to you and all of a sudden fate has taken the wheel and destiny drives the bus? If you answered YES to any of these questions please answer NO to our RSVPs because THIS WEDDING AINT ABOUT THAT October 10th 2022 we are celebrating determination, hard work, and perseverance between two people; Shaina and Steve. This is a wedding about never quitting, about being there for one another, about loving each other when the chips are down. This is a wedding about leaning in when life gets difficult. This is a wedding about leaning on each other when it's unbearable. Years of long distance? Check.During a global pandemic? double check.During personal upheaval, loss, pain and injury? checkity check check CHECK. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. When Shaina and Steve met with adversity, they did not throw in the towel. When met with resistance from what seemed like the entire world, they continued to thrive. They circumnavigated Iceland in six days. They climbed one of the hardest sections of the Appalachian trail during a hurricane. They hiked the entirety of Isle Royale National Park. What's even more impressive is the family that Steve, Shaina and Preslee built. Hundreds of goodnights over FaceTime, dozens of hugs at hello and "see you later", and one or two tears when hearing "Steve Daddy" all show how important this matrimony is not just to the adults in the room. We believe Steve and Shaina's love for one another gives Preslee the greatest joy (besides Barbies). This is a wedding about taking that square peg and smashing it through the circle hole. Maybe the cards were stacked against them. Maybe the odds weren't in their favor. But they did it, and on the other side, with everything on fire around them, they love each other more than ever. This is a wedding to celebrate that.
