We first met at Gold’s Gym in 2023, although, “met” might be a stretch. We saw each other in passing, definitely did not speak, and followed the universal rule of never hitting on someone mid-rep. Thankfully, Michael spotted Shaina on Hinge in late November of 2023, and a few days later, we were sitting across from each other with two big ass pretzels and margaritas.

We’ve been more or less attached at the hip since our first date. Michael met Luna (Shaina’s dog and a package deal), then we met each other’s families, moved in together, and started building a life full of tiny rituals, our favorite snacks, and our shared mission to find the best margarita in the city.

On May 2, 2025, Michael proposed to Shaina with his late mother’s ring (with Luna's full approval). We celebrated the way we always do, at De Nada Cantina (the undisputed marg champion).

We are so excited to begin this next chapter as a little family of three. To everyone who has been part of our journey—whether before we met or along the way—thank you. We can’t wait to celebrate with each and every one of you in the city where we fell in love!
