Shamrina and Gabriel met their freshmen year of college at San Diego State University in their Greek InterVarsity (Greek IV) bible study group. It did not take long for the two to grow close; they spent the next 4 years of college together as best friends. Despite all their friends being convinced that they were meant to be together, Gabriel & Shamrina remained just friends all throughout college.

In those four years, they served together in Greek IV leadership, went to each other's sorority/fraternity formals and date dances, cooked together (yes, Gabe learned how to make dolma), explored San Diego together, went to church together, and spent approximately 1 million hours on FaceTime together, even though they saw each other almost every day of college.

Immediately after graduation, Gabriel confessed his love for Shamrina at a park where they often went on walks together. It didn't take Shamrina long to realize that Gabriel was the one, as a little over a month later, their relationship began in summer 2021.

After two years of dating, Gabriel proposed on October 14, 2023.

Almost exactly 1 year later, on October 13, 2024, Shamrina & Gabriel are tying the knot and becoming the Wongs.
