Our Wedding

Our story starts at an Applebee’s in Concord, New Hampshire. Our first date was on a gloomy Sunday, but the experience we had was as if the sun was beaming. Whoever was controlling the radio was having a day because it was so loud. After fighting through the music to talk about our life stories and goals, I knew he was the person I wanted to be with. The special spark came when we had to use the bathroom but neither of us wanted to go back into the restaurant, so we walked to a far plaza.&nbsp;&nbsp;	After our amazing first date, we kept the ball rolling. Two weeks later, Jameson invited me to his annual Halloween party. I was nervous because it would be the first time I met his friends and family. I accepted his invitation because I wanted to see him again, and I like parties. He was so welcoming and warm. His graciousness to his house guests was charming to say the least. After that night, we graduated to boyfriends.&nbsp;&nbsp;	Months flew by as we baked so many treats (63 in one day), went on so many trips (ice castles, Bahamas, Boston, concerts, wrestling shows), watched and cried to many-many movies, and created memories that will last a lifetime. We plan to have traditions of making sugar cookie houses and celebrating WrestleMania with a themed buffet every year. The excitement I have felt is immeasurable.&nbsp;	Our engagement begins on day five of our cruise. I had a suspicion it was coming because our one-year anniversary is soon. I initially thought he was going to do it during our sushi date because his brothers booked the same restaurant. Turns out it was a real coincidence. Once it did not happen, the idea of it happening on the cruise dwindled.&nbsp;&nbsp;	We got fancied up to take pictures on the diamond stairs. I thought nothing of it when there was the suggestion to go outside for the sunset. We took pictures, but then the camera did not leave. I ran out of poses, and I was awkward at that point.&nbsp;&nbsp;	“I can’t wait to marry you,” Jameson says to me. “So, I am going to ask you now.”&nbsp;&nbsp;	I could see his lips move to say something else, but I was so shocked, I heard nothing. I was confused and amazed that someone could be so thoughtful to create a magical moment like this.&nbsp;&nbsp;	I forgot I was supposed to say that part from the shock. “Oh my god,” I mutter. “What!” I yell. “Oh yeah, yes, yes, yes,” I finally say. I did not have to think about it. On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, Jameson, and I were promoted to engaged.&nbsp;

The beginning of our story was a big surprise. I had pretty much given up on dating. I resigned to being alone forever as a lonely spinster. Then out of the blue pops out the sweetest, kindest, most incredible man that’s ever existed. He didn’t even miss a beat when we found we were 2 and a half hours apart. To bring us to the most beautiful last first date, it was the loudest Applebees I think on the east coast. We had incredible conversations about ourselves, learning the basic “first date” stuff. With every word I was hooked. I couldn’t stop staring at those beautiful eyes. But as it always goes, all good things must come to an end (or do they?). We left the restaurant and someone with the smallest bladder had to go. We had a long scenic walk to JCPenney and I just couldn’t help but to ogle at the tall gorgeous man walking with me. But the date had to end and we parted ways. My instant overthought thoughts began and I start to think what I could have done better, is there going to be a next time because I think I really like this man. I remember it like it was yesterday, a video, as I start my drive home, him in his car, a red light turns to green lighting up his face and he says he had a great time and he wants to see me again! I GOT HIM!!After a couple days of contemplating I nervously ask if he’d like to come to the annual Halloween party. No pressure because it’s a lot of my friends and family and I know that can be nerve wracking. He takes a couple days to decide and he says YES! Everyone at the party just assumed we were together. “Is that your boyfriend??” Not yet but we’re hoping. After that night we made it official. I don’t think there’s ever a “right time” to fall in love and I did it fast. I knew I wanted to marry this man. I’d never felt this way about someone and he just brings so much happiness and love into my life.Through the many months of driving back and forth to Vermont and New Hampshire. The many snowstorms (that only seemed to happen on my driving weeks), I would do it over and over again. I knew I wanted to marry this man. True love always sounds like a fairytale. So cliche. But it does happen. It’s like we’ve always meant to be together, we just click.We have had many adventures and small vacations, none of which would be the same if I didn’t have him. He completes me, my other half. Our most recent vacation was a gorgeous cruise through the Bahamas. I had been planning on proposing on the beach of the private island. It was a Thursday and it was so beautiful. Then came the rain. So. Much. Rain. It really rained on my proposal?? As if I wasn’t nervous enough about it. Now comes cooking up a new plan. I decided that everyone wanted to get dressed up to take pictures. We took some on the beautiful diamond stairs. We went up to get some with the lighthouse in the background. And now it’s time. “Are we done yet? We never take this many pictures.” Timing is everything and nothing in this moment. They don’t have a class on proposing so it’s all on me. I got it.My brain does go fuzzy here. An immense amount of adrenaline was pumping its way through my eyeballs and out my ears. “I can’t wait to marry you. So I’m gonna ask you”. These old knees aren’t what they used to be and I think the people way down on the beach could hear the creaking but I did it. I look up at him and his hand is over his mouth, flustered “Yes, yes, YES”. Thank God. What was I scared about? I know I made it look easy though. But this is just the beginning of our story. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t want him by my side. I will never live another day not loving you Shane Martin Jr.
