Ixchel Beach Hotel
Update on Accommodations:
The wedding host hotel is the Ixchel Beach Hotel located on Playa Norte (North Beach) just walking distance from restaurants, shopping, nightlife and right on a fabulous beach. www.ixchelbeachhotel.com
Ixchel is full at this time. However, we may have a couple rooms from folks that have cancelled or that we held for last minute needs so please contact either JD or I and we can help look into accommodations for you nearby the host hotel!
The thing that we love about Isla is that you are not limited to staying at the resort. The fun of the island is that it is so small that you can take a golf cart around the island to explore. You can stop in and enjoy a drink in a beach club on the south side of the island or simply walk to the famous "Hidalgo Street" for restaurants and nightlife close to the hotel.

CARM TOURS & TRANSFERS
Guests will need to fly into the Cancun International Airport. From the airport, you will need transportation to the Gran Puerto Cancun (Ultramar) Ferry dock in Puerto Juarez. (approximately 30 minutes drive). From there you will take the ferry to Isla Mujeres which takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Once you arrive in Isla, you are walking distance to the Ixchel Beach Hotel or most properties on the North Beach including Privilege Aluxes. (9 minute walk) If you would prefer to take a taxi, there is a taxi stand right out front.
We have set up a website where you can book your transfers through a trusted company recommended by our wedding planner.
Go to the website link provided below to book round trip transportation from the airport to the ferry dock, ferry tickets round trip and transportation from the ferry back to the airport. CARM Tours and Transfers will make the arrangements, send confirmation and invoice you individually for your transfers.
You are welcome to book your own transfer or just "pay as you go" and pay for a shuttle in front of the airport and buy a ferry ticket. We recommend going through the transfer company to make things simple and the cost is about the same.
Joaquin Golf Cart Rentals
As many of you know, the island is small enough that most tourists rent a golf cart and take a day or 2 to explore the island. Ixchel, Privelege Aluxes and other properties in the North Beach are close to the beach, ferry stop and shops and restaurants on Hildago that you don't really need a golf cart every day. Snorkeling trips, beach chairs, coffee shops and cafes are walking distance. We normally do at least one day of golf cart explore the island.
We have rented a group of golf carts for guests to use on Friday, February 15th from 9am - 6pm. This will be no charge to you. If you can, team up with another couple or friends as we have enough golf carts assuming 3-4 passengers on each cart. (Golf carts in large bookings are hard to come by) We are working to make an arrangement to have the golf carts all parked out in front of Ixchel, if we can't secure that, you may have to walk down to Joaquins and give them your license and get a cart under the Granger Cate Wedding golf cart order. We will keep you posted on that but point is, golf cart is on us that day so no need to rent one!

Finally, if you would like to rent a golf cart longer or on other days, feel free to go to Joaquins or any other golf cart company in the area. The hotel can also point you to companies. We have found the best success in securing a cart is before 10am as in the afternoon they can be booked.
