There are 2 major airports close by: Bilbao (Spain) and Biarritz (France). There are many low-cost flight options to both of these airports from London (and within Europe). So if you're traveling from overseas, it may be cheaper to book a round trip to London (or another major hub, e.g. Barcelona) and a separate round trip to one of these airports. San Sebastian itself has a very small airport which offers a flight from London City airport on Thursday, returning on Sunday.

Both Bilbao airport and Biarritz airport have bus services or carpool options which cost about 5-15 euros per person and take about 45 mins to get to San Sebastian. These options do get booked up fairly quickly, so make sure to book well in advance. Please see bus options below. If you're interested in taking a taxi, that will cost c.200 euros a car. You can walk from one end of the city to the other in about 20-30 minutes and it is all relatively flat. Taxis are hard to come by and very expensive, and Uber doesn't exist in San Sebastian either! However, hotels will be able to call you a local taxi if needed. Fortunately, everything is in walking distance once in town, so no car is required for your stay. We'd recommend staying in the Old Town for your stay.
