Shannon & Alexander

How we fell in love!

Alex and Shannon met when they were both attending the Community College of Rhode Island. They found each other on a dating app called Tinder. Neither of them had had much success on this app until they both made the bold move to swipe right. Alex reached out to Shannon and they hit it off right away. They had their first date near their school at the local Barnes and Noble. They had a shared love for reading and decided to bring some Chipotle in, eat together, grab a coffee from the Starbucks inside, and then peruse the books selection. Their plan was quickly foiled when they were kicked out of the book store for bringing in outside food. They spent the rest of their date laughing in Alex's Solara while they finished eating their food. Both of them remember there never being a dull moment in their conversation that day. They bonded over how fast they both talked and how they could keep up with eachother's pace with ease. Sadly, after this, they fizzled out and stopped talking for the entire month of March. It wasn't until Alex had a week to think about how much he missed Shannon as he layed in a hospital bed with a popped lung that he decided to reach back out to her. Shannon agreed to go on one more date with Alex and give it another try. After that day, Shannon and Alex were inseparable, sleeping at each other's apartments until they finally decided to move in together after only a few months of dating. You know what they say, "when you know you know". They moved into a studio apartment in Narragansett together and stayed there for a couple years, enduring a global pandemic together and spending much more quality time together than either of them could have anticipated. Their next adventure moved them to Hartford Connecticut where Alex began working for The Hartford and Shannon continued her degree. After a year in Connecticut, still cooped up by the pandemic, the couple decided to move back to Rhode Island to be closer to Shannon's family and accept new work positions. Alex continued his work in sales and Shannon began to work in the child care industry. Shannon has since finished her degree and is now working in an elementary school in Cranston as a 1st grade teacher! Alex has since accepted a position at Fidelity while he works to complete his degree in Finance. Perhaps the biggest hurdle that this couple has had to face in their 6 years together was Alex's moped accident in 2023. This couple showed love and patience to each other as they did their best to manage through this difficult time. We are all so grateful for Alex's recovery and the plethora of family and friends that offered their support during this time. It is because of the love you all poured into this couple that they decided to have such a large wedding. You are all a part of their story and they are so so happy that you could join them in celebrating their love on their wedding day!
