“Our story” begins many years ago. Daniel & Shannon first met in Grammar School. Shannon was in St. Barnabas and Daniel in the local Public School. Shannon and her sister would often hang around 235th Street (where Daniel grew up) and play different games, like manhunt and football. It was the coming of age kind of thing where all of a sudden your classmates become your crushes; the next thing you know you are strangely feeling butterflies in your stomach and blushing when this person is around.
Daniel first asked Shannon to be his girlfriend in 8th grade. She turned him down. I guess it was his persistence that paid off. Shannon finally agreed to be his girlfriend in the beginning of High School. They both took the train every day to White Plains, Daniel to Stepinac and Shannon to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Four years went by in a flash, as it does when enjoying the ups and downs of life ; Especially while growing together and learning from one another. Shannon and Daniel soon became Woodlawn's “Power Couple” in the early 2000’s. When it came time for graduation in 2010 , Daniel was going away to college and Shannon decided to stay local for 2 years. They decided it best to go their separate ways but not without first making a pact “ If neither of them were married by the time they turned 30 they would give it another chance.”
Daniel & Shannon turned 30 a couple of years ago. Shannon and Daniel were busy protecting the streets of NYC. Shannon's protection included keeping criminals off the street while Daniel made sure people’s’ Health and Safety were intact during the pandemic working under the colors of the New York National Guard.
The National Guard soon took Daniel to Africa for a year. When he returned, a short while later, Daniel asked for Shannon’s hand in marriage.
It was a beautiful snowy evening in NYC in front of the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree where Daniel got down on one wet knee; she said “Yes”and here we are. Their story continues….
