Welcome to Jordan and Shannon's 14 year old love story, showcasing God's faithful hand in uniting them against all odds. Their journey began in the year of 2010. They were fresh faced young adults, without a clue! Can you imagine Jordan without locs and facial hair, and Shannon with semi pressed hair? Say less! Check out the photos of the youngins at their conference in the photo section on this website! They met at the illustrious Gates Millennium Scholarship Banquet, in their first year of college. Fate intervened on the first night, as Jordan somehow found a way to pull this Cali girl away from the party, to charm her with his “sweet somethings” in the hallway! Was she intrigued? Was she mesmerized? The way things are going for them in 2024, some (Jordan) would say yes. Shannon would say, “ I don’t even remember what the heck we were talking about that night.”

The enchantment Jordan thought he put on Shannon that night must have needed a little work, considering they didn’t actually physically cross paths again, until 9 years later! Some would say Jordan needed to step his game up. Others would say Jordan was letting Shannon marinate on the memories of him, to build up the intensity for when she would see him again. The reality was, Jordan and Shannon were teen adults living their merry lives. One will never know if their thoughts of one another remained constant throughout 2010-2019! Well, that’s not exactly true with the help of social media! Receipts, Receipts, Receipts! Three years later, it was Shannon (gasp) who made the first move in Facebook messenger! Oh, Jordan will love this revelation! Shannon had to speed up Jordan’s game, by casually messaging, “ Hey, how have you been? It’s been like 3 years, so you may not even still remember me lol. I randomly saw your instagram and it made me remember the conference lol.” The message may have not seemed like much at the time, but it was a hook and bait! It was over for Jordan at this moment! He would never be able to stop talking to Shannon. So maybe it was truly he who had been intrigued and mesmerized?

After various on and off conversations through the years, centered on God, church, family, psychology, teaching, shared aspirations and Summer Walker’s Over it album, Jordan was able to sneak back into Shannon’s life with the help of Instagram DM’s. He got her with the big eyes emoji, as he was in awe of the picture she posted as a young tenderoni, while in them Vegas streets. He wanted to take all her attention, so she wouldn’t get swooped up by the Vegas hot commodities. Nah, but all jokes aside, looks and great conversation may have started their love affair, but it was God who truly sustained it.

God helped them to build a spiritual foundation for their friendship and for their relationship, as they truly put in the time to seek him through early morning prayers, weekly fasting, and daily devotionals. God gave them so many green lights to pursue this relationship, but they were scared. This Texas boy didn’t know much about west coast vibes, and this Cali girl didn’t know much about Southern chivalry. Yet, through cautiousness, faith, and cheap plane tickets, their paths crossed once more. Yall, they were flying all up and through 2020, like a whole ass pandemic wasn’t going on! In the years that followed their 15 hour reunion/first date, (Shannon still remembers the big ole smile Jordan had on his face, when she picked up him from the airport) Jordan and Shannon have navigated life's twists and turns with unwavering faith, difficult healthy conversations and laughter. Through every trial (Shannon left, just kidding) and triumph, they continued to commit themselves to one another, as they remained steadfast in their belief that God's plan for them was unfolding exactly as it should.

As they near the cusp of marriage-hood, Jordan and Shannon are filled with gratitude for the miraculous way in which God has orchestrated their love story. With hearts overflowing with love and faith, they look forward to a future filled with endless possibilities, knowing that their union is blessed by the divine hand of God.
