Growing up, I was raised in a male dominated household with my brothers and my father so I definitely developed a love of sports. When I'm not busy with work (which is quite rare), you can find me watching reality TV or a sports game, listening to music, or reading a book in my bed . I met Shannon during our college years at UCSD. We were a part of a larger friend group but quickly connected and became extremely close. Luckily, Shannon not only became my dance partner, shopping buddy and confidant, but she also became the sister I never had! Over the years, we remained close and continue to be each other's partner in crimes (we have some fun stories). Shannon is one of the most compassionate and understanding person I know and it brings me joy to see Shannon find her forever person. Although Shannon is my younger sister, she has been an inspiration to me to go after my dreams and never stop educating myself, but also take time to have fun because life is short. I met Shannon over 9 years ago through a mutual friend on our way to an R&B event called Colors. We instantly clicked, not leaving each others side the entire night. Dancing, singing and having a true time - I knew we would be friends for life. Over the years our friendship grew over lunch dates, gatherings, heart to hearts, and our devotion to God. And even after moving miles away, we never missed a beat. Shannon is truly one of the most selfless people I met - always there to support and love on others. Heyyyyy everyone ! My name is Ja’Nae. I am 31 years old and I currently work in law enforcement as a Lieutenant. I grew up in South Central Los Angeles with my twin sister (yes there are two of me lol). I enjoy hiking, working out at the gym and reading but most of all TRAVELING! Some of my favorite places I have traveled are Thailand, Paris and Costa Rica. I also love to do hair on the side (braider) and helping to make women feel their best. I also love planning events, just ask everyone who has attended my “Friendsmas Onesie Game Night” every year. :) I met Shannon right before 9th grade started at our orientation at Westchester High School. Our extroverted mothers were both lost and met first and introduced us shortly after. We were destined to be in eachother lives through the grace of God. We even joined a junior sorority together and became line sisters. From besties to sisters, I always say. I have been there from the beginning and I am so proud to see my friend evolve into this amazing, God fearing, accomplished young woman. I’m even more happy she found her forever love in Jordan. Hey y’all! My name is Tiara. Shannon and I met in August 2012, within the first month of her study abroad semester at Spelman College. I am currently a paralegal in the process of applying to law school with the HIGH hopes of working in prison reform and mass incarceration. I have been dancing almost every genre you can think of since the age of 3 and have recently been dubbed a master double dutch instructor to adults and children alike, no age is too young or old to learn. When it comes to Shannon, I like to think it was soulmates at first sight as our dynamic duo instantly clicked on hobbies like dancing and our passion for shoes one night in the common area of our dorm. We were quite literally inseparable throughout her entire experience. However, it wasn't until we both spoke of our relationships with God that I knew I found a true sister. Since then, we’ve maintained a long-distance friendship through 2-3 hour phone calls, Spelman homecoming visits, and traveling for life milestones. Needless to say, there is NEVER a dull moment when we both make the trek from either Atlanta or LA. I am elated and extremely proud to be a part of Shannon and Jordan's special day.
