Our Wedding

✨Our Story✨  I’ll never forget the first time I met Zane. It was 2012, and we were just kids navigating the halls of middle school. I was dating his best friend at the time, so Zane was just… there, you know? A familiar face in the crowd, always around, always part of the group. We’d see each other at school, exchange a quick “hey,” and that was that. Little did I know, that goofy kid would one day become my entire world. Years passed, and our paths crossed again in a more meaningful way. We hung out once and it was one of those moments that felt like it could’ve been something—but life had other plans for a while. Still, Zane had this way of sticking around, even when I wasn’t expecting it. After school, he’d show up at my house with Dunkin’ Donuts, like, almost every single day. My family noticed before I did. They’d tease me, saying, “Shaunta, that boy’s in love with you! You should go for it!” I’d roll my eyes and call him a “stalker” just to shut them up. Truth is, I didn’t want to admit how much I looked forward to those visits! Then came the day that changed everything. It was fall, the air crisp and the leaves turning those gorgeous shades of red and gold. Zane asked if I had time to get together during fall foliage, and something about the way he asked made my heart skip. I said yes, and we ended up at a soccer game together. Let me tell you, it was freezing! I was shivering, trying to play it cool, when Zane handed me his gloves without a second thought. That small, sweet gesture warmed me up in more ways than one. I looked at him, really looked at him, and I knew. This was it. This was us. From that chilly soccer field to now, Zane and I have been inseparable. He’s my partner, my best friend, and the one who still makes my heart race like it did that night. We have grown from young high school students to adults taking on the world one day at a time. We have traveled across the United States with one another, moving from NY to TX, NY to GA. We have learned travel does not always mean a perfect trip to your destination and we have experienced numerous times that life is not perfect but to accept that and to embrace the situation you are in!  We’ve grown up together, laughed together, and built a love that feels like it was always meant to be. As we get ready to say “I do,” I can’t help but smile thinking about all the late night food runs, all the little moments, and all the love that brought us here. Here’s to a lifetime of new experiences to endure together!

Dress Code: We kindly request that guests dress in formal attire for our wedding ceremony to celebrate this special occasion in style. Think cocktail dresses, suits, or black-tie elegance.

**A Special Request for Our Wedding** We’re so excited to share our special day with all of you!! Zane & I wanted to request an unplugged ceremony! This means we’d love for you to put your phones, cameras, and other devices away during the ceremony itself. Our wonderful photographer will capture every detail, and we can’t wait to share those moments with you afterward!

Join us Early for the Celebration! We’d love to make the most of our time with you! If you are interested in arriving before the wedding on Saturday, May 2nd, Please feel free to come as early as you’d like! We will have a designated area for tent camping & some RV hook ups! There will also be porta-potty’s available and showers! Please let us know if you plan to arrive early, so we can arrange plans during your stay!

*Prepare for After The Ceremony* There will be a whole bunch of different activities taking place after the ceremony at 12:00pm! Examples: bonfire, swimming, soccer, different games, dancing, etc! Please bring a change of comfortable clothes and shoes!!

Wedding Schedule: 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Vendor setup begins 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Hair & Makeup for the Bride, Bridesmaids, Flower girls, and Mother of the Groom! 11:00 AM: Photographer arrives- Starts capturing getting-ready photos 11:30 AM- 12:00 PM: Guests Arrive and are seated. Prelude music plays 12:00 PM: Ceremony Begins (Guests seated by ~11:45 AM if possible). Wedding Party lines up! 12:00 PM - 12:30 (12:45 PM): Ceremony begins; processional, vows, ring exchange, readings, kiss, recessional 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Cocktail hour begins immediately after the ceremony! Guests can enjoy a selection of finger foods & drinks! Wedding party photos begin and guests photos will take place afterwards! 2:00 PM- 3:30 PM: Small break before reception begins at 4:00 PM! Yard games, soccer, board games, swimming, etc will be available for guests to enjoy during this time! (Optional Bride & Groom attire change before reception begins) 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Guests cab begun to fund their seats for the reception! 4:00 PM- 4:30 PM: Grand Entrance of the wedding party & the newlyweds into the reception space! Welcome Toast! 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Dinner will be served! Toasts/ speeches (Parents, Maid of Honor, Best Man, and any one else who would like to) 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Cake cutting & first bites! Dessert table will be available! Bouquet toss! 5:30 - TBD: Open dancing! First dance, Parent Dance, Open floor! Music plays, guests mingle, lawn games, bonfire, swimming, etc!!

We have plenty of options for places to stay for the wedding!    Option #1: Tent Camping  The wedding will be taking place in May which is perfect weather for camping!! Between the three properties that are connected there will be a ton of space to pitch a tent and hang out as well.    Option #2: Hotels in Hartwell, GA -Hampton Inn -Quality Inn   Option #3: Airbnb’s around our area There are a TON of places available to book near us that are located both downtown & on the lake!   Option #4: Mt Olivet RV Hook up sites At the location of the ceremony & reception   Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!
