Our Wedding

Breanne and Shayna connected online as the two were separated by 5,000 KMs. Bonding over their love for adventure and careers in the sport industry, the two found themselves chatting until ungodly hours of the morning (even more ungodly for breanne...time zones suck). When Breanne moved to BC they were inseparable as Shayna became Breanne's tour guide of BC. The two grew a passion for hiking, camping, and brew tours (even though B hates beer). A month or so into the relationship Breanne quickly realized that Shayna took her dream job, she didn't let her bitterness outweigh the new feeling of home that she found with Shay. Within a few months of dating they decided to move into a home together in Abbotsford. Shortly after moving in with each other the COVID-19 pandemic hit, allowing them the opportunity to be more than partners but 24 hour roommates and work buddies. Over the next 10 months the two helped each other find aspects of themselves that they never knew existed. Shayna started the process of getting into her dream career as a police officer, Breanne started her Masters and they may or may not have started ring shopping (typical lesbians). Being former athletes, and hopeless romantics both Shay and Breanne wanted to propose first... but like true adults they decided to settle it with a series of games... winner take all. We will save you the curse words and sore feelings that came along with this and say that Breanne came out victorious clinching the opportunity to propose to Shayna. On August 22nd, 2020 Breanne planned a surprise proposal at Bridal Veil Falls in Chilliwack, BC. With the help of Shays MOH Donna, and her family Shay believed she was on a friendly hike when Donna asked to pull over new the falls. As Shay pulled into the parking lot she saw the not so subtle limo and asked "is this happening for real" realizing that today was the day she was going to become a fiancee. With a trail of family with roses in their hands, Shayna made her way (ugly crying) to the heart of Bridal Veil Falls where Breanne (also ugly crying) got down on one knee and asked Shayna to spend the rest of her life with her. Obviously she said yes, and the two celebrating their engagement with friends and family at a surprise engagement party...try to top that Shayna. The pressure was on for Shayna to try and out do Breanne's lavish proposal. On October 26th, 2020 Shayna planned a surprise proposal at Stanley Park where they went on their first date. Shayna picked Breanne up and told her that they were going to a friends engagement party in Vancouver, but they were going to stop in Stanley Park to take their usual stroll/photoshoots. Little did Breanne know that on the stroll through the forest that there would be lit candles, music, and rose pedals on a rustic bridge in the middle of Stanley Park. With the help of two gay boys, a photographer, and a scenic forest (after getting lost along the way) all of Breanne's dreams came true when Shayna got down on one knee to ask Breanne to spend the rest of her life with her. If you are staying before and after our wedding for a longer vacation there are AirBnB's that you can also look at, which might be cheaper!We recommend staying in Langley, Abbotsford, Surrey. If you do not mind travelling then you might want to stay in Vancouver if you are not from BC and want to experience the lower mainland.

Airport Details

Langley is basically in the middle of the lower mainland. There are two different airports that are within an hour of our wedding city. Abbotsford Airport- Cheaper flights such as Swoop and Flair fly out of Hamilton, ON directly into Abbotsford. The airport is about 30 minutes from the city of Langley making it a more affordable and time saving option. Vancouver International- More expensive flights such as Air Canada and West Jet fly out of Toronto, ON directly to Vancouver International. This airport is about an hour from the city of Langley but a great option if you are extending your trip and hoping to visit Vancouver before/after the wedding.

Our Ceremony will be UNPLUGGED meaning we ask all phones and cameras to be put away. If you wish to post photos from the rest of the wedding you are more than welcome to, we just ask that you tag us or our hashtag #OnCloudCameron so we can see all of them after our big day.

FAQ 

Shayna and I are cousins but grew up more like sisters. Our memories go back to Shayna having a bowl cut, making her always be "it" for tag, and getting her to ask her mom if we could have a sleepover because she was too cute to say no to. We grew up in Chilliwack together doing sleepovers, camping trips, and holidays together. From there, our love for sport, passion for inclusion and enjoyment of each other's company has created a lasting friendship beyond the typical family duties. Shayna has a heart of gold, is funny as heck, sensitive to a fault and has your back any day. I think they call it a Maid of Honour because there is literally no one I'm prouder to stand beside than Shayna.

Hi! I’m Erica, Bre’s maid of honour! Breanne and I met during the first week of university in 2015. We lived in the same house but on different floors but the 4th floor seemed to always be the meet up spot. Bre was my rock during first year and was seriously the one that got me through it. Now 5 years (6 at the wedding) later,  I get to watch my best friend get married. Back in first year she wrote me a letter and each word still stays true. Some people go through their entire lives without finding their soul mate but I found mine through my best friend. We are each others sisters, bridesmaids (in this case MOH), god mother’s, best friends, bar partner! I am beyond excited to be apart of this special day with 2 incredible brides and an epic bridal party! See you all at the wedding 💃

Hi Everyone, I'm Shayna's bridesmaid... Shayna and I grew up playing basketball in the valley. We knew each other and played against or with each other occasionally. When I graduated from UFV I was sent to recruit her to our school and once she was back in the valley we've been amazing friends ever since. Our friendship has grown over the years as we both enjoy  each others company. We both love tacos, fitness, basketball, nature, and so much more. Cannot wait for the big day to celebrate Bre and Shay.

Hello! I’m Brooklyn, Bre’s single bridesmaid (I only point this out because if I don’t, she will)!! Bre and I met back in 2015 when we both rushed the same sorority together at Brock U! Together we spent two solid years riding the rollercoaster that was sorority life and university, and honestly I’m not sure how we made it out alive (seriously.. there were hospital visits, heartbreaks and rough hangovers) but I think it had something to do with sticking together and having one another’s backs! I am beyond excited and the definition of honoured to be a part of this wedding party and big day and cannot wait to meet everyone on the dance floor!!

Hi Everyone, I'm Shayna's Bridesman for the wedding! Shayna and I met at Chilliwack Senior Secondary in grade 10. But it wasn't until post high school did we reconnect. We bumped into each other at Junction one night and we have been going strong ever since.

When we weren’t acting like brother and sister, we filled the spots of therapist, best friend, fill in partners (to get rid of some stalkers), life of the party, but most importantly the sense of sanity that kept us both grounded throughout tough times in life. 3 years later someone finally gave this girl the ring she’s always wanted and I couldn’t be happier that it was Shayna. I'm damn well jumping out of my socks in happiness to be a bridesman in these two wonderful ladies' wedding.
