Howelsen Hill is North America’s oldest operating ski area and is found in downtown Steamboat. This is a smaller mountain that also offers Nordic (cross country) ski trails.

Strawberry Hot Springs is an incredible naturally-fed complex of thermal pools nestled in the midst of groves of Aspen and Evergreen trees. If you are interested in a soak or massage, we highly recommend making reservations when they are released (4 weeks out). Reservations are $20 for a 2 hour soaking window. It is about 20-25 minutes outside of town. There are a few shuttle companies that offer pick-up and drop-off in town, and their price includes your reservation to soak (so no need to book it through Strawberry Hot Springs directly, just the shuttle company). If you have a rental car or are local, be advised that the hot spring REQUIRES 4WD or snow chains to be on tires from October-May due to the nature of the road to get there. It is also worth mentioning that Strawberry Hot Springs is clothing optional after dark, so do what you will with that information!

Attention all Pittsburgh guests: Old Town Pub is one of Shea’s “musts” in Steamboat. It is a fantastic dive bar with live music and a sandwich called “The Pittsburgh” on the menu (it’s their version of a classic Primanti Bro’s sandwich).
